ORDINANCE NO. 492 AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND EMERGENCY ORDINANCE NO. 468 ENTITLED: "AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF LAS VEGAS, COUNTY OF CLARK, STATE OF NEVADA, CREATING AND ESTABLISHING CIVIL SERVICE RULES AND REGULATIONS FOR THE EM­PLOYEES OF SAID CITY, DEFINING TERMS; PROVIDING FOR EXAMINATION; ESTABLISHING ELIGIBILITY LISTS; PROVIDING FOR APPOINTMENTS; PROMOTIONS: DISCIPLINARY ACTION; REPORTS AND RECORDS; CLASSIFICATION AND PAY PLANS; AND ALL MATTERS RELATING THERETO; AND REPEALING ORDINANCE NO. 391 AND ALL OTHER ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH," BY ADDING A NEW SECTION PROVIDING FOR THE METHOD OF PAYMENT TO TERMINATING EMPLOYEES; AND REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH. The Board of Commissioners of the City of Las Vegas does ordain as follows: Section 1. There is hereby added a new paragraph to Section XIV of the Civil Service Rules and Regulations of the City of Las Vegas to be designated as Section XIV B, 8, which shall read as follows: Whenever an employee in the competitive ser­vice resigns, retires, or is discharged, from the effective date of such resignation, retirement, of discharge he shall be terminated for all administra­tive purposes, and he may be paid in full by warrant for all overtime, holidays, and earned vacation time due him at his termination date at the rate of pay current at the date of termination; provided, however, all such payments shall be first approved by the Board of Commissioners. Section 2. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed. Section 3. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect upon its publication, as in the next section provided, and final passage. Section 4. The City Clerk and Clerk of the Board of Commissioners of the City of Las Vegas shall cause this ordinance to be published once a week for two successive weeks immediately following its first read­ing and adoption in the Las Vegas Sun, a daily newspaper published in the City of Las Vegas. s/ C.D.
