Cragin__________________ Mayor ATTEST; s/ Shirley Ballinger___________ City Clerk ORDINANCE NO. 449 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF LAS VEGAS, NEVADA, PROHIBITING DOGS FROM BEING OR RUNNING AT LARGE WITHIN SAID CITY EXCEPT ON LEASH. The Board of Commissioners of the City of Las Vegas do ordain as follows: Section 1. That notwithstanding any provision or provisions of any other ordinance or ordinances of the City of Las Vegas, Nevada, no person owning or having charge, custody, possession or control of any dog shall (and it shall be unlawful for any person to) cause, permit or allow the same to be, or run at large in or upon any highway, street, lane, alley, court, or other public place, or in or upon any private property or premise other than those of the person owning or having charge, custody, possession or control of such dog within the City of Las Vegas, Nevada, unless such dog be restrained by a substantial leash not to exceed six feet in length and is in charge, custody, possession or control of a competent person. Section 2. Any person violating any of the provisions of this ordinance shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof shall be punished by a fine not to exceed One Hundred Dollars($100.00), or by imprisonment in the City Jail of the City of Las Vegas, Nevada, for a period of not to exceed thirty (30) days, or by both such fine and imprisonment in the discretion of the Court. Section 3. The City Clerk and Clerk of the Board of Commissioners of the City of Las Vegas shall cause this Ordinance No. 449 to be published once a week for two successive weeks immediately following its final reading and adoption, in the las Vegas Review Journal, a daily newspaper published in the City of Las Vegas.
