Cahlan_____________ Notary Public in and for Clark County, Nevada, My Commission Expires Jan 12, 1947 EMERGENCY ORDINANCE NO. 317 AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO. 292 entitled, "AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE PROTECTION OF THE PUBLIC HEALTH, AND THE EXAMINATION, REGISTRATION, LICENSING AND BONDING OF PERSONS ENGAGED IN THE BUSINESS OF PLUMBING, OR LABORING AT THE TRADE OF PLUMBING; REQUIRING A PERMIT FOR THE INSTALLATION OR ALTERATION OF PLUMBING AND DRAINAGE SYSTEMS; CREATING THE OFFICE OF PLUMBING INSPECTOR AND A BOARD OF PLUMBER EXAMINERS, AND PRESCRIBING THEIR DUTIES; DEFINING CERTAIN TERMS; ESTABLISHING MINIMUM REGULATIONS FOR THE INSTALLATION, ALTERATION OR REPAIR OF PLUMBING AND DRAINAGE SYSTEMS AND THE INSPECTION THEREOF; PROVIDING PENALTIES FOR ITS VIOLATION AND REPEALING CONFLICTING ORDINANCES." The Board of Commissioners of the City of Las Vegas do ordain, as follows: Section 1. Section 1 of the above entitled Ordinance is hereby amended by amending subdivision (a) of Section 137 of the Plumbing Code of the City of Las Vegas to read as follows: Sec. 127. HOUSE DRAIN AND HOUSE SEWER MATERIALS. (a) The House Sewer, beginning three (3) feet outside the building line, shall be of case iron pipe, vitrified clay pipe of approved standards, or pipe meeting the standards of the Orangeburg pipe, except that such pipe meeting the standards of the Orangeburg pipe shall not be installed beneath concrete slabs of any description, and provided that if such pipe meeting the standards of Orangeburg pipe is used, it shall be installed according to United States Government specifications or specifications supplied by the Plumbing Inspector of the City of Las Vegas. Section 2. All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict with the provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed. Section 3. This ordinance is declared to be and is hereby passed as an Emergency Ordinance by reason of the emergency conditions existing in the need for Veteran housing and it shall take effect immediately after its passage and publication. Section 4. The City Clerk is hereby directed to cause this Ordinance to be published in the Las Vegas Evening Review Journal a newspaper published in the City of Las Vegas, County of Clark, State of Nevada, for a period of two weeks, that is to say once each week for a period of two weeks.
