SQUIRES, being duly sworn, disposes and says: That he is publisher of the LAS VEGAS AGE, a daily newspaper of general circulation, printed and published at Las Vegas, in the County of Clark, State of Nevada, and that the attached Ordinance No. 174 of the City of Las Vegas was published in said newspaper for a period of one week from Sept. 19, 1931 to Sept. 25, 1931 inclusive being the issues of said newspaper for the following dates to-wit: Sept. 19, 20, 22, 23, 24 and 25, 1931. That said newspaper was regularly issued and circulated on each of the dates above named. That the legal charge for publishing the same was $242.65. Signed C. P. (Notarial Seal) ORDINANCE NO. 175 An Ordinance to amend Ordinance No. 159 of he City of Las Vegas by adding thereto a new section to be known as Section 12a, and repealing all ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict therewith. The Board of Commissioners of the City of Las Vegas do Ordain as follows: Section 1. Ordinance No. 159 of the City of Las Vegas, entitled: "An Ordinance regulating the doing of plumbing work and providing for the examination of persons engaged in the same, and creating an examining board, providing a penalty for the violation thereof, and repealing all ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict therewith" is hereby amended by adding thereto a new section to be known as Section 12a, as follows: Section 12a. Before any person who has received a certificate of competency shall engage in the business of plumbing, or doing plumbing work, including the laying of cast iron sewers, such person shall pay to the City Clerk of said City an annual license fee, as follows: 1. For every plumbing business where t he same is carried on at a fixed place of business in the City of Las Vegas, in carrying on such business per annum, $100.00. 2. For every kind of plumbing business other than that described in Subdivision 1 of this Section, per annum, $200.00. Such payment shall constitute the fee for the current calendar year, or portion thereof, in which such license shall be issued. Any license issued to any master plumber shall expire at the end of the calendar year; provided, that upon payment of an annual license fee of $100.00, where same is carried on in a fixed place of business, and $200.00 for every other kind of plumbing business, the particular license shall be renewed yearly until revoked. The license above provided for shall be issued by the City Clerk. Every person, firm or corporation before obtaining a certificate as "Master Plumber", shall deposit with the City Clerk, the sum of One Hundred Dollars ($100.00) in cash as a guarantee for the payment of all fees or permits or inspections that may become due and he owed by said certificate holder to the City of Las Vegas, and as a further guarantee that all plumbing work done under the authority of said certificate will be done in compliance with all the provisions and requirements of all the ordinances applicable thereto. Such deposit shall at all times be maintained at One Hundred Dollars ($100.00), and in event said depositor shall discontinue business said deposit shall be returned to such depositor, less any amounts due for fees or under any of the other provisions of this ordinance. Section 2. All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict with the provisions of this Ordinance are hereby repealed. Section 3. This Ordinance shall be in effect from and after its passage and adoption and publication for a period of one week (6 issues) in Las Vegas Age a daily newspaper published in the City of Las Vegas. Passed and adopted this 20th day of August, 1931, by the following vote of the Board of City Commissioners: Mundy, Hansell, and His Honor Mayor pro tem, W. C. German, voting aye. Noes none.
