ORDINANCE NO. 125 An Ordinance to amend Section 33 of Ordinance No. 66 of the City of Las Vegas, entitled "An Ordinance regulating Travel and Traffic upon the Public Streets of the City of Las Vegas, Nevada," and repealing all ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict therewith. THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF LAS VEGAS DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. That Section 33 of Ordinance No. 66 of the City of Las Vegas, Nevada be, and the same is hereby amended to read as follows: "Section 33. Sudiv. (a). It shall be unlawful for the driver of any vehicle in or upon any street in the City of Las Vegas, or for any person standing or walking in any such street, to fail, refuse or neglect to allow the right of way to any officer, fireman or apparatus of the Fire Department when the same is going to, on duty at, or returning from a fire or to any ambulance, whether of public or private character, when such vehicle is employed in going for or carrying a sick or injured person to a hospital or other place of relief or treatment, or to any officer or policeman or vehicle of the police or fire department, when responding to calls or alarms, or to vehicles under the control of the City of Las Vegas used in cleaning, sweeping or flushing the public streets or sewers, or for the collection of garbage. Upon the approach of any police or fire department vehicle, or any such ambulance, it shall be the duty of the operator of every other vehicle, upon the sounding of a signal by said police or fire department vehicle or any such ambulance, to immediately move such other vehicle to a position as near as possible and parallel to the right hand curb and to remain in such position until the police or fire department apparatus or such ambulance has passed such vehicle; and provided that no vehicle shall be driven to or permitted to stand within a distance of three hundred feet in any direction of the place where any such fire is in progress or of the place where any apparatus of the fire department is situated for the purpose of extinguishing any fire or guarding any premises on which there may have been a fire.
