Commissioner Fountain moved Urban Renewal Warrant Nos. 9442 - 9444, in the amount of $4,951.95, be approved. Motion seconded by Commissioner Sharp and carried by the following vote Commissioners Fountain, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor Mayor Gragson voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Commissioner Elwell. Commissioner Whipple moved the minutes of December 2, 1959 be approved by reference, and the Mayor and City Clerk be authorized to sign same. City Manager Kennedy stated the Police Department requested that the application of Robert D. Lawrence for a 50% interest in the Tavern License at Patrick's Peyton Place, 1110 Fremont, present owner G. Patrick Kennedy, not be acted on at this time, but that action on this matter be deferred until the next meeting, pending receipt by the Police Department of additional information which had been requested by it. Commissioner Fountain moved this application be held in abeyance until the next meeting. Motion seconded by Commissioner Sharp and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Fountain, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor Mayor Gragson voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Commissioner Elwell. City Manager Kennedy informed the meeting he was in receipt of an application from Tommy Smith for a 5% interest in the Gaming license of the California Club; that this application was cleared through and approved by the State Tax Commission but did not appear on the agenda as it had only been received yesterday. He also advised that there was a favorable police report on the applicant. Commissioner Fountain moved the application of Tommy Smith for a 5% interest in the gaming license of the California Club be approved. Motion seconded by Commissioner Sharp and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Fountain, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor Mayor Gragson voting aye; noes, none.
