    CONDUIT FOR FIRE ALARM City Manager Kennedy presented the request of the Fire Department for approval of SYSTEM EXPANSION purchase requisition to the Standard Wholesale Supply Company, 855 West Bonanza, Las Vegas, in the estimated amount of $3,600.00 for 16,000' of 2" Transite Conduit Purchase Requisition with Couplings. This will be used to go along with the underground installation being made by the telephone company on Decatur between Charleston Boulevard and Approved Owens Avenue. Mr. Kennedy further advised that there were two schools in this area now and two more proposed schools to be built in a short time. Commissioner Fountain moved purchase requisition to the Standard Wholesale Supply Company, 855 West Bonanza, Las Vegas, in the estimated amount of $3,600.00 for Conduit be approved. Motion seconded by Commissioner Sharp and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Elwell, Fountain, Sharp and His Honor Mayor Pro Tem Whipple voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Mayor C. D. Baker. -oOo- There being no further business to come before the Board, at the hour of 10:55 Commissioner Fountain moved this meeting be adjourned. ATTEST: APPROVED: ___________________________________ ____________________________________ Marjorie Holtschlag Reed Whipple Acting City Clerk Mayor Pro Tem Las Vegas, Nevada MINUTES July 13, 1959 A regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners of the City of Las Vegas, Nevada, held this 15th day of July, 1959, was called to order at the hour of 7:30 p.m. with the following members present: Mayor Oran K. Gragson Commissioner William H. Elwell Commissioner E. W. Fountain Commissioner Harris P. Sharp Commissioner Reed Whipple City Manager A. H. Kennedy City Attorney Calvin Cory Planning Director Franklin J. Bills Dir. Public Works Richard P. Sauer Admin. Assistant Robert D. Heath Acting City Clerk Marjorie Holtschlag VACATION: PORTION Mayor Gragson announced this was the time set for public hearing on the vacation SOUTH 13TH STREET petition (V-2-59) received from Murray Wollman, Thomas T. Beam and Joe Cardinal for the vacation of the west 10' of right-of-way on the west side of South 13th Street Public Hearing between Charleston Boulevard and Bonneville. Approval had been recommended by the Planning Commission and they had received no protests to this vacation. At the Order Adopted regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners held June 3, 1959, this petition was approved and public hearing set for this time. His Honor asked if there were any objections to this proposed vacation and none were voiced or filed. Thereafter Commissioner Fountain moved the vacation of the west 10' of right-of-way on the west side of South 13th Street between Charleston Boulevard and Bonneville be accepted and the following order of vacation adopted and copy of order filed with the County Recorder of Clark County. ORDER OF VACATION A Petition, dated the 20th day of April, 1959, signed by four (4) freeholders residing in the area affected, having been filed with the Clerk of this Board, petitioning for the vacation of the west 10' of right-of-way on the west side of South 13th Street between Charleston Boulevard and Bonneville in the City of Las Vegas, hereinafter described, and said petition having been by order of this Board referred to the City Planning Commission for its recommendation in the premises, and said Planning Commission having filed its report, dated May 26, 1959, with this Board approving and recommending such vacation; And this Board, by an order made at its regular meeting held on the 3rd day of June, 1959, set the 15th day of July, 1959, at the hour of 7:30 p.m., in the Council Chambers of the City Hall, 5th and Stewart Streets, in the City of Las Vegas, Clark County, Nevada, as the time and place for a public hearing on said petition and recommendation, and ordered the City Clerk to cause the aforesaid street proposed to be vacated to be posted with a notice setting forth the time and place of the public hearing and the extent of the proposed vacation; And it appearing from the affidavit of Dwight Engebregson filed with the Clerk 7-1-59 and 7-15-59
