Motion seconded by Commissioner Whipple and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Fountain, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. PROPOSED ORDINANCE Commissioners Bunker and Sharp, committee for recommendation on the proposed ordinance for Uniform Housing Code the adoption of the Uniform Housing Code, reported favorably on the proposed ordinance entitled: AN ORDINANCE TO ADOPT THE UNIFORM HOUSING CODE, 1958 EDITION, WHICH PROVIDES FOR Approved for THE PUBLIC HEALTH AND SAFETY BY PROVIDING MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS FOR THE PROTECTION OF LIFE, Adoption LIMB, HEALTH, PROPERTY, SAFETY AND WELFARE OF THE GENERAL PUBLIC AND THE OWNERS AND OCCUPANTS OF RESIDENTIAL BUILDINGS; PROVIDING FOR THE ENFORCEMENT OF ITS PROVISIONS; PROVIDING FOR PERMITS AND INSPECTIONS; PROVIDING PENALTIES FOR THE VIOLATION THEREOF; PROVIDING OTHER MATTERS PROPERLY RELATED THERETO; AND REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT THEREWITH. Commissioner Sharp moved that the City Clerk be instructed to publish appropriate NOTICE OF FILING including the fact that the proposed ordinance shall be considered for adoption at the next regular meeting of the Board of City Commissioners to be held December 3, 1958. ORDINANCE NO. 777 An ordinance entitled: AN ORDINANCE CREATING AND REGULATING A MUNICIPAL CIVIL DEFENSE Civil Defense Ordinance ORGANIZATION AND ITS OPERATION WITHIN THE LIMITS OF THE CITY OF LAS VEGAS, NEVADA; CREATING A MUNICIPAL DEFENSE COUNCIL OUTLINING THE POWERS AND DUTIES OF THE CIVIL DEFENSE Adopted COUNCIL; CREATING THE OFFICE OF CIVIL DEFENSE DIRECTOR AND OUTLINlNG HIS POWERS AND DUTIES; PROVIDING PENALTIES FOR THE VIOLATION OF RULES AND REGULATIONS ISSUED PURSUANT TO THIS ORDINANCE; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT THEREWITH; AND PROVIDING OTHER MATTERS PROPERLY RELATED THERETO; having been reported an favorably by Commissioners Bunker and Fountain, was read in full to the Board. Cargo Inc., Box 430, Las Vegas, Nevada, in the amount of $2,001.00 for the purchase of 1740 cu. yds. Type II gravel for street construction. Authorized Commissioner Bunker moved that Purchase Requisition No. 3622 to Wells Cargo Inc., Box 430, Las Vegas, Nevada in the amount of $2,001.00 for the purchase of 1740 cu. yds. LAS VEGAS GOLFER'S City Manager Kennedy presented a letter from Jack E. Butler, Secretary, Las Vegas Golfer's ASSOCIATION LETTER Association, addressed to the Mayor and Board of Commissioners thanking the City for the use of the Municipal Golf Course during the co-sponsored Sahara Pro-Amateur Golf Tournament; Received & Filed also a check enclosed for $250.00 for green fees. Commissioner Bunker moved this letter and check be noted as received and filed. GENERAL FUND BALANCE City Manager Kennedy reported that after Service and Material Warrants and Payroll Warrants were paid out the General Fund Balance is $852,040.97.
