    Absent: Mayor C.D.Baker Commissioner ReecL Whipple City Attorney Howard W. Cannon City Clerk Shirley Lodwick Inasmuch as the Mayor and Mayor Pro Tem were both absent, it was necessary for the members present to elect a chairman to preside over the meeting. Commissioner Sharp moved that Commissioner Bunker be elected as chairman to preside over the meeting. Motion seconded by Commissioner Fountain and carried by the following vote: Com­missioners Bunker, Sharp and Fountain voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Commissions' Whipple. City Manager Kennedy recommended that the bid of one small dump truck be awarded to Clark County Wholesale in the amount of $2,658.00. The City Manager further recommended that the bid of Community Chevrolet for a small flat bed truck in the amount of $2160.57 be accepted. Thereafter Commissioner Fountain moved that Bid No. 57.21 be awarded as follows: q One small dump truck to Clark County Wholesale - $2658.00 One small flat bed truck to Community Chevrolet - 2160.57 and the Mayor and Clerk authorized to sign the bid award. Motion seconded by Commissioner Sharp and carried by the following vote Commis­sioners Bunker, Fountain and Sharp voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Mayor Baker and Commissioner Whipple. The City Manager recommended the low bid of Gaudin Motor Company on Bid No. 57.22 for two (2) dump trucks in the total amount of $11,992.50 be accepted, provided it is determined to the satisfaction of the City that the trucks will definitely meet our specifications, and that the delivery of parts and service will be met to the satisfaction of the City. Commissioner Fountain moved that the low bid of Gaudin Motor Company on Bid No. 57*22 for two (2) dump trucks in the total amount of $11,992.50 be accepted, pro­vided it is determined to the satisfaction of the City that the trucks will defin­itely meet our specifications, and that the delivery of parts and services will be met to the satisfaction of the City. Commissioner Fountain moved that the low bid of Gaudin Motor Company on bid no. 57.22 for two (2) dump trucks in the total amount of $11,992.50 be accepted, pro­vided it is determined to the satisfaction of the City that the trucks will defi­nitely meet our specifications, and that the delivery of parts and services will be met to the satisfaction of the City. Motion seconded by Commissioner Sharp and carried by the following vote: Commis­sioners Bunker, Fountain and Sharp voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Mayor Baker and Commissioner Whipple. City Manager Kennedy recommended the low bid on Bid No. 57.23 of Community Chevro­let in the total amount of $6,000 for four (4) ½ ton pickup trucks be accepted. Commissioner Fountain moved that Bid No. 57.23 for four (4) one-half ton pickups be swarded to the low bidder, Community Chevrolet in the total amount of $6,000.00. Motion seconded by Commissioner Sharp and carried by the following vote: Commis­sioners Bunker, Fountain and Sharp voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Mayor Baker and Commissioner Whipple. The City Manager recommended that Bid No. 57.24 for the furnishing of three (3) motorcycles be awarded to Knerr's Las Vegas Harley Davidson Sales in an amount not to exceed $5,180.96, inasmuch as there was only one bid, and they are the only firm able to furnish American made motorcycles. Mr. Kennedy explained, how­ever, the bid called for 1958 model motorcycles, and the bidder advises there will be a price increase on the 1958 model of not more than 7½% over the present price of the 1957 model which would be $4,819.50;the bidder further advised that inasmuch as the 1958 models are not yet available, his bid is submitted at the price not to exceed $5,180.96. Commissioner Sharp moved that inasmuch as there was only one bid on Bid No. 57.24, and they are the only bidder able to furnish American made motorcycles, that the bid of Knerr's Las Vegas Harley Davidson Sales for three (3) motorcycles, 1958 models, not to exceed $5,180.96, be accepted and the award made. Motion seconded by Commissioner Fountain and carried by the following vote: Commis­sioners Bunker, Fountain and Sharp voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Mayor Baker and Commissioner Whipple. City Manager Kennedy requested that recommendation on Bid No. 57.25 for the furnish­ing of one (l) station wagon or one (l) 4-Door Sedan, or both, be held for further study. Commissioner Sharp moved that the recommendation for award of Bid No. 57.25 for the furnishing of one (l) station wagon or one(l) 4-Door sedan, or both be held in abey­ance for further study. Motion seconded by Commissioner Fountain and carried by the following vote: Commis­sioners Bunker, Fountain and Sharp voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Mayor Baker and Commissioner Whipple. It was the recommendation of the City Manager that the bid of Clark County Wholesale on Bid No. 57*26 for one(l) Walk-in Delivery Van(Paddy Wagon) in the amount of $4,474.20 be accepted, inasmuch as Gaudin Motor Company, the low bidder did not meet all the specifications of this bid.
