    Commissioner Whipple moved the application of Paul H. Seitz for license as a slot machine operator and a gaming license for 6 slot machines at Tip's Charcoal Broiler, 506 Fremont Street be approved, and the Supervisor of License and Revenue authorized to issue the licenses. Motion seconded by Commissioner Sharp and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Commissioner Fountain. Commissioner Whipple moved the application of Earl H. Roberts for license for one Poker at the Golden Gate, 1 Fremont Street be approved subject to the condition that Mr. Roberts be advised that this license is not transferable from this location. Motion seconded by Commissioner Bunker and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Commissioner Fountain. Commissioner Bunker moved the application of Jack H. Davies for 2% interest in the Fre­mont Hotel gaming license be approved. Motion seconded by Commissioner Whipple and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Commissioner Fountain. Commissioner Bunker moved the application of Eslie O. Dobbins for a Restaurant Beverage license at the Black Hawk Restaurant, 1300 North C Street be approved and the Supervisor of License and Revenue authorized to issue the license. Motion seconded by Commissioner Sharp and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Commissioner Fountain. Commissioner Bunker moved the application of Faye W. Wilson for a Restaurant Beverage li­cense for the Desert Snack Bar, 222 North Main Street, formerly issued to LeRoy Boger, be approved and the Supervisor of License and Revenue authorized to issue the license. Motion seconded by Commissioner Whipple and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Commissioner Fountain. Commissioner Bunker moved the following applications for permits for charitable solicitation permits, as recommended by the Solicitations Review Board be approved, and the Supervisor of License and Revenue authorized to issue the permits: FRONTIER COUNCIL FOR GIRL SCOUTS ALPHA EPSILON CHAPTER OF SIGMA ALPHA INTERNAT'L SORORITY AMERICAN WAR MOTHERS VENTURE CLUB OF LAS VEGAS ST. THERESA'S GUILD, ST. CHRISTOPHER'S CHURCH LAS VEGAS CHAPTER OF THE NINETY-NINES EXECUTIVE SECRETARIES INC. ST. ANN'S MOTHERS' CLUB B'NAI B'RITH WOMEN OF LAS VEGAS Motion seconded by Commissioner Sharp and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Commissioner Fountain. Commissioner Bunker moved the application of the Emblem Club for a charitable solicita­tion permit to hold a fashion show on May 4, 1957 be approved, subject to the approval of the Solicitations Review Board. Motion seconded by Commissioner Sharp and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Commissioner Fountain. At this time City Attorney Howard W. Cannon arrived at the meeting. Commissioner Sharp moved that Payroll Warrants Nos. 7023 to 7569 in the net amount of $75;960.46 be approved and the Mayor and Clerk authorized to sign the warrant register. Motion seconded by Commissioner Whipple and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Commissioner Fountain. Consideration was given to the claim of Anne N. Powell for damages caused to her property from the drainage from the disposal plant. The Commission was advised that the original claim of Mrs. Powell in the amount of $16,000.00 had been denied on October 3, 1956, and this claim was for an additional $1,500.00 from the 15th of October, 1956 to March 19, 1957 when said claim was filed with the City Clerk. Commissioner Sharp moved the claim of Anne N. Powell in the total amount of $17,500.00 be denied. Motion seconded by Commissioner Whipple and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Commissioner Fountain. City Manager Kennedy presented the Civil Service meritorious increases approved by the Board of Civil Service Trustees, and recommended their approval. Commissioner Bunker moved the following meritorious salary increases be approved as recom­mended : GAMING APPLICATIONS Paul H. Seitz Earl H. Roberts Golden Gate Jack H.
