Absent: Mayor Baker and Commissioner Fountain. Commissioner Sharp moved the following applications for charitable solicitation permits be approved, subject to approval of the Solicitations Review Board: 1) The Forty-Niners Lions Club Inc. 2) Women's Auziliary of Southern Nevada Memorial Hospital 3) Tumor Board of Rose De Lima Motion seconded by Commissioner Fountain and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Fountain, Sharp, and His Honor Mayor Pro Tem Whipple voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Mayor Baker and Commissioner Bunker. Commissioner Sharp moved that Payroll Warrants Nos. 2504 through 3063 in the net amount of $81,204.63 be approved. Motion seconded by Commissioner Fountain and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Fountain, Sharp and His Honor Mayor Pro Tem Whipple voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Mayor Baker and Commissioner Bunker. Commissioner Fountain moved that Service and Material Warrants Nos. 7735 and 7740 to 7906 inclusive in the total amount of $369,469.95 be approved. Motion seconded by Commissioner Sharp and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Fountain, Sharp and His Honor Mayor Pro Tem Whipple voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Mayor Baker and Commissioner Bunker. Commissioner Sharp moved the minutes of August 9, and 13, 1956 be approved by reference and the Mayor and Clerk authorized to sign same. Motion seconded by Commissioner Fountain and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Fountain, Sharp and His Honor Mayor Pro Tem Whipple voting ay; noes, none. Absent: Mayor Baker and Commissioner Bunker. Commissioner Sharp moved the following correction be made in the Minutes of August 22, 1936; The resolution on the Child Nursery Ordinance violation by Lawrence LaPenta be corrected as follows: a) A new paragraph be added between paragraphs three and four stating: "WHEREAS, the continued operation is a public nuisance, and b) The fourth paragraph be corrected to read as follows: "NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Las Vegas at a special meeting held on the 22nd day of August, 1956, that the premises at l404 Maryland Parkway and the use to which said premises are being put is a public nuisance, and this matter be referred to the office of the City Attorney for investigation, and if the situation justifies the filing of a suit for injunction in the opinion of the City Attorney, the Mayor be and he is hereby authorized to sign a complaint for injunction to restrain the violation of the Child Nursery and/or Zoning Ordinances." Motion seconded by Commissioner Fountain and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Fountain, Sharp and His Honor Mayor Pro Tem Whipple voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Mayor Baker and Commissioner Bunker. Commissioner Sharp, member of the committee for recommendation on the proposed amendment to the Liquor Ordinance requested additional time before reporting. An ordinance entitled: "AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF LAS VEGAS, NEVADA TO AMEND SECTION 2 OF ORDINANCE NO. 573, BY CHANGING THE MINIMUM BUILDING LINE SETBACK AND FUTURE WIDTH LINE ON CHARLESTON BOULEVARD; PROVIDING OTHER MATTERS PROPERLY RELATED THERETO; AND RE­PEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT THEREWITH, having been reported on favorably by Commissioners Fountain and Whipple, was read in full to the Board. Commissioner Fountain moved the above entitled Ordinance No. 724 be adopted. Motion seconded by Commissioner Sharp and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Fountain, Sharp and His Honor Mayor Pro Tem Whipple voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Mayor Baker and Commissioner Bunker. An ordinance entitled: AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF LAS VEGAS, NEVADA, REGULATING THE CONSTRUCTION, MAINTENANCE, USE AND OPERATION OF TRAILER PARKS; REQUIRING PERMITS FOR THE OPERATION OF TRAILER PARKS; PROVIDING REGULATIONS FOR THE USE AND STORAGE OF TRAILERS ON PRIVATE PREMISES; PROVIDING OTHER MATTERS PROPERLY RELATED THERETO; PROVIDING PENALTIES FOR THE VIOLATION HEREOF; AND REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH, was read by title and referred to Commissioners Fountain and Sharp for recommendation.
