    This being the time heretofore set for the opening of Bid No. 56.41 for the construction of a water main on East Charleston Boulevard, bids were received from the following firms: GEORGE E. MILLER CO. $13,947.00 LONGLEY CONSTRUCTION CO. 12,452.30 Commissioner Bunker moved the foregoing bids be referred to the Public Works Department for tabulation and recommendation. Motion seconded by Commissioner Sharp and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Fountain, Sharp and His Honor Mayor Pro Tem Whipple voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Mayor Baker. This being the time heretofore set for the opening of Bid No. 56.42 for the furnishing of waste receptacles, bids were received from the following firms: BEST MAINTENANCE $1430.40 Commissioner Sharp moved the foregoing bids be referred to the Public Works Department for tabulation and recommendation. Motion seconded by Commissioner Bunker and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Fountain, Sharp and His Honor Mayor Pro Tem Whipple voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Mayor Baker. This being the time heretofore set for the opening of Bid No. 56.43 for the furnishing and installing of jail equipment, cells, bids were received and opened from the following firms: SOUTHERN STEEL CO. $69.435.00 The following bids were received but were not opened because they did not qualify so far as licenses: DECATUR IRON & STEEL CO. Decatur, Ala. - No City or State license. STEWART IRON WORKS CO. Cincinnati, Ohio - No City license HERRICK IRON WORKS, Oakland, California - No City or State license PAULY JAIL BLDG. CO. St. Louis, Mo. - No City License Commissioner Sharp moved the bid of Southern Steel Company on Bid No. 56.43 be referred to the Public Works Department for tabulation and recommendation. Motion seconded by Commissioner Fountain and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Fountain, Sharp and His Honor Mayor Pro Tem Whipple voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Mayor Baker. Commissioner Fountain moved the bids that did not qualify for opening on Bid No. 56.43 be returned to the bidders unopened with a letter of explanation. Motion seconded by Commissioner Sharp and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Fountain, Sharp and His Honor Mayor Pro Tem Whipple voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Mayor Baker. This being the time heretofore set for the opening of Bid No. 56.44 for the construction of Dog Kennels, bids were received from the following firms: BEN O.
