Thereafter the only bid received was opened and read as follows: GENE'S AUTO BODY SERVICE $360.00 per month will be paid to the City for this Contract Commissioner Fountain moved this matter be held in abeyance until January 18, 1956. Motion seconded by Commissioner Sharp and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Fountain, Sharp, Whipple and Mayor Baker voting aye; noes, none. The application of Dr. Hale B. Slavin to rezone Lots 1-5, Block 1 and Lot 1, Block 2 of Charleston Square #1 and Lot 1, Block 3; Huntridge Addition from R-1 to R-4 was considered by the Board. The Planning Commission recommended this application be approved. His Honor asked if there were any objections. None were voiced. Commissioner Whipple moved this application for rezoning be approved. Motion seconded by Commissioner Bunker and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Fountain, Sharp,Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. The Commission considered the application of R.J. Kaltenborn for E.E. Kaltenborn for the rezoning of Block 1, Lots 1-6 of Paradise Park from R-3 to R-4. The Planning Commission recommended approval of this application. His Honor asked if there were any objections. Mr. Robert Santa Cruz appeared on behalf of Mr. & Mrs. George Quinn protesting this rezoning. Commissioner Whipple moved this matter be deferred until January 18, 1956. Motion seconded by Commissioner Fountain and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Fountain, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Not voting: Commissioner Sharp. The recommendation of the Planning Commission that the street running between Main Street and Rancho High School, south of Woodlawn Cemetery be named Foremaster Lane, was considered at this time. Commissioner Sharp moved the public hearing on this street name be held January 18, 1956 at 7.30 P.M. Motion seconded by Commissioner Bunker and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Fountain, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. City Engineer George E. Wade recommended the final map of McNeil Tract No. 4 be approved. Commissioner Whipple moved the final map of McNeil Tract No. 4 be approved and the Mayor and Clerk authorized to sign same. Motion seconded by Commissioner Sharp and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Fountain,Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. City Engineer Wade recommended the final acceptance and release of bond on Van Patten Tract No. 2. He said that all the conditions previously stipulated had been complied with. Commissioner Sharp moved the improvements in Van Patten Tract No. 2 be accepted and the bond released. Motion seconded by Commissioner Whipple and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Fountain, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Commissioner Sharp moved the subdividers of Dawson park Tract No. 2 be granted a sixty day extension of time. An ordinance entitled: AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE DECLARING THE DETERMINATION OF THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF LAS VEGAS, NEVADA, TO MAKE CERTAIN PUBLIC IMPROVEMENTS IN THE CITY OF IAS VEGAS BY INSTALLING A SANITARY SEWER ALONG CERTAIN STREETS AND ALLEYS AND PORTIONS OF STREETS AND ALLEYS AND EASEMENTS THEREIN; TO CREATE SANITARY SEWER IMPROVEMENT ASSESSMENT DISTRICT NO. 200-13 FOR THE PURPOSE OF MAKING SAID IMPROVEMENTS, AND TO DEFRAY THE ENTIRE COST AND EXPENSES THEREOF BY SPECIAL ASSESSMENT MADE ACCORDING TO BENEFITS; FIXING A TIME IN WHICH PROTESTS AGAINST THE PROPOSED IMPROVEMENTS OR THE CREATION OF SUCH DISTRICT MAY BE HEARD AND CONSIDERED BY SAID BOARD; DIRECTING NOTICE THEREOF TO BE GIVEN AND PROVIDING OTHER MATTERS RELATING THERETO, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY, was read in full to the Board.
