    Las Vegas, Nevada December 29, 1955 A recessed regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners of the City of Las Vegas, Nevada held this 29th day of December, 1955 was called to order at the hour of 7.45 P.M. by His Honor Mayor Baker with the following members present: Mayor C.D. Baker Commissioner Wendell Bunker Commissioner Harris P. Sharp Commissioner E.W. Fountain Commissioner Reed Whipple City Manager A.H. Kennedy City Attorney Howard W. Cannon City Engineer George E. Wade City Clerk Shirley Ballinger Absent: Asst. City Manager Robert W. Notti The Commission considered the application of J.A. Ewing, W.G. Steele, Lila R. Lee for gaming license for 1 Craps, 2 "21", 1 Keno, and 2 Poker at the Cotton Club, 500 Jackson and the application of J.A. Ewing and Lila R. Lee for the tavern liquor license for this business. These licenses were formerly issued to Uvalde Caperton. The Commission discussed this matter with Messrs. Ewing and Steele and their attorneys Madison Graves. The Commission advised these applicants that they would prefer that Miss Lee not be connected with this operation. Thereafter Commissioner Fountain moved a gaming license for 1 Craps, 2 "21", 1 Keno and 2 Poker for the Cotton Club, 500 Jackson Street for the first quarter of 1956 be granted to J. .Ewing and W.G. Steele and the tavern liquor license be granted to J.A. Ewing providing Miss Lee does not have any active management of the business. Motion seconded by Commissioner Bunker and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker,Fountain, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Commissioner Bunker moved the following applications for renewal, of gam­ing licenses for the first quarter of 1956 be approved in the same status as last quarter: GAMING APPLICATIONS 1st Quarter 1956 A.
