Absent: Commissioner Whipple. At this time the Commission considered the application of Alfred Durante, Leo Massaro, Italo Ghelfi, Robert Picardo, Fred DeTore, Bernard F. Perata, A. A. Harris, and Remy Gacherieu for gaming license for the Golden Gate Club located at 1 Fremont Street. The Police Department reported that eight of the twenty-three applications have been investigated and they are not in a position to recommend complete approval of the license until the remaining participants have been thoroughly investigated. Thereafter Commissioner Whipple moved that action on this application for gaming be held in abeyance until the investigation on the majority interests has been completed and the appli­cants be notified of this fact. Commissioner Whipple moved the following new applications for gaming license for the fourth quarter of 1955; be approved: STRIP COFFEE SHOP Keith Campbell 1328 South 5th 4 slots TASTY PASTRY SHOP Keith Campbell 2226 E. Charleston 3 slots Motion seconded by Commissioner Fountain and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Fountain, Whipple, and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Commissioner Sharp. Commissioner Fountain moved the following applications for gaming license for the fourth quarter of 1955 at new locations be approved: HUGHES MARKET J. A. Ewing 509 Jackson 1 slot TATUMS BAHBEQUE C. R. Millhizer 420 Jackson 2 slots Motion seconded by Commissioner Whipple and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Fountain, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Commissioner Sharp. Commissioner Whipple moved the request of Harry Levy to change the name of his liquor store at 6l6 West Bonanza from the Market Spot to the Friendly Liquor Store, be approved. Motion seconded by Commissioner Fountain and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Fountain, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none.
