    REZONING Beers Associates Z-5-55 NAMING ROAD REZONING Owens Ave. & H St. FEE INCREASES CENSUS Additional Questions BID NO. 55.01 Woodlawn Cemetery Water Supply BONDS Westwood Park No. 2 PROPOSED ALIGNMENT Decatur Lane NOW, THEREFORE, it is the decision of this Board that the application of A. C. Delkin for reclassification of Lots 6 and 7, Block 2, Pioneer Heights from R-4 to C-2, he denied. Motion seconded by Commissioner Sharp and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. At this time the Board considered the application of Heers Associates for reclassification of that portion of the NW¼ of Section 29, T20S, R61E, MDB&M lying easterly of US Highway 95 from R-3 to C-2. Commissioner Sharp moved that a public hearing on this rezoning application be set for March 16, 1955. Motion seconded by Commissioner Whipple and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. The request for naming of the road beginning at Main Street and running east along the southerly edge of Woodlawn Cemetery to Bruce Street as extended, to be named McGovern Street, was considered by the Board. The request had been denied by the Planning Commission. Commissioner Sharp moved that this request for the naming of a road be denied. Motion seconded by Commissioner Jarrett and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. The Board considered the recommendation of the Planning Commission for the rezoning of Owens Avenue and H Street to R-2-T and R-3-T. Commissioner Sharp moved that the public hearing on this rezoning be set for March 16, 1955. Motion seconded by Commissioner Whipple and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. The request of the Planning Commission for increase of fees for applications for reclassifications, variances and use permits was considered at this time. Mr. Franklin Bills said that the present fees do not defray the costs for reclassification, variances and use permits, and that the expense should be borne by the people who benefit from these applications. An ordinance entitled AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND CHAPTER 24, CODE OF LAS VEGAS, 1949, ALSO KNOWN AS ORDINANCE NO. 378, BY PROVIDING A NEW SCHEDULE OF FEES FOR APPLICATIONS FOR ZONE RECLASSIFICATIONS, VARIANCES AND USE PERMITS; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT THEREWITH, AND PROVIDING OTHER MATTERS PROPERLY RELATED THERETO was read by title and referred to Commissioners Bunker and Whipple for recommendation and report. The Board considered the recommendation of the Planning Commission that additional questions concerning family income, owner of living quarters and occupation be included when the census is taken. Commissioner Jarrett moved that the recommendation of the Planning Commission for these additional questions be denied because of lack of funds. Motion seconded by Commissioner Bunker and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Mr. George Wade, City Engineer, recommended that Bid No. 55.01 for the Woodlawn Cemetery Water Supply be rejected. Commissioner Sharp moved that the recommendation of the City Engineer be accepted and that these bids be rejected. Motion seconded by Commissioner Bunker and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. City Engineer, George Wade, requested advice as to whether or not the bond on Westwood Park No. 2, O. H. Nelson, Subdivider, should be released. He indicated that there is still some additional work to be done. He was advised that the bond should be retained. Mr. George Wade requested approval of proposed alignment for Decatur Lane from Charleston Boulevard to Vegas Drive. Commissioner Bunker moved that the City secure a 150 foot right of way for Decatur Lane. Motion seconded by Commissioner Sharp and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. 2-16-55
