N The request of the developers of Vegas Square Subdivision for permission to set fixtures in a model home without connecting said fixtures to the sewer or septic tank, was considered at this time. It was the decision of the Commission that this granted subject to the stipulation that the house cannot be occupied until it meets the ordinance requirements. The Board considered the proposed agreement to furnish fire protection to Nellis Air Force Base. Thereafter Commissioner Whipple moved this agreement be approved and the Mayor and City Clerk authorized to sign same. Motion seconded by Commissioner Sharp and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor Mayor Baker voting aye; noes, none.' The request of Charles J. Ketcham to meet with the Board concerning his request for extension of time on his Use Permit for a chopping center on the Tonopah Highway was considered. It was requested that this matter be placed on the agenda for the next special meeting of the Board. At this time Mesdames Schmidt, Sobchick and Nicols appeared before the Board concerning a soot nuisance in the neighborhood of 10th and Bonneville. The City Attorney advised these property owners that the City had no grounds for action. His suggestion was that there might possibly be grounds for a civil action by the complainants. Mr. R. V. Rickey, representing the developers of the Dawson Park Subdivision was present at this time to request approval of the tentative map. No action was taken by the Board at this time due to the fact that the sewage disposal problem in this area must be worked out prior to approval of the subdivision. 9-1-54
