Board of Electrical Examiners Shirley Ballinger City Clerk ACCEPTANCE OF NOTICE We, the undersigned Mayor, Commissioners, City Manager and City Attorney of the City of Las Vegas, Nevada, do hereby admit due service of the foregoing notice of Special Meeting. C. D. Baker __ Robert W. Notti__________ Wendell Bunker___________ George Wade_________________ Harris P. Sharp_____ Rex A. Jarrett_____________ ______________________ A special meeting of the Board of Commissioners of the City of Las Vegas, Nevada, held this 21st day of June, 1954 was called to order at the hour of 9:00 A.M. by His Honor Mayor Baker with the following members present: Mayor C. D. Baker Commissioner Wendell Bunker Commissioner Rex A. Jarrett Commissioner Harris P. Sharp Acting City Mgr. R. W. Notti City Attorney Howard W. Cannon City Engineer George Wade City Clerk Shirley Ballinger Absent: Commissioner Reed Whipple City Manager George Rounthwaite PAYROLL WARRANTS PARADISE PLAZA Tract No. 1 Final Map Commissioner Sharp moved that Payroll Warrants Nos. 6460 to 6915 inclusive in the net amount of $52,690.29 be approved and the Mayor and City Clerk authorized to sign same. Motion seconded by Commissioner Bunker and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Sharp and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent Commissioner Whipple. Commissioner Bunker moved the action taken by the Board of Commissioners relative to the final map of Paradise Plaza at the regular meeting held on June 16, 1954, be rescinded. Motion seconded by Commissioner Sharp and carried by the following vote: Commissioner Bunker, Sharp and His Honor voting aye; noes, Commissioner Jarrett. Absent: Commissioner Whipple. Commissioner Bunker stated at this time, for the record, that he is not financially interested in this proposed subdivision, but is a principal in a company with four other people to purchase six of the lots in this subdivision which they will trade for other property. Mr. Bunker further stated that this was his only interest. Thereafter Commissioner Sharp moved the final map of Paradize Plaza, Tract No. 1 be approved and the Mayor and Clerk authorized to sign same. Motion seconded by Commissioner Bunker and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Sharp and His Honor voting aye; noes, Commissioner Jarrett. Mr. Jarrett stated he voted against this motion on the same basis as previously stated. Absent. Commissioner Whipple. At this time discussion was held on the Board of Electrical Examiners and the necessity for reappointment of the existing members, plus an additional person, since the recently adopted Ordinance No. 10 provides for a Board of six members. Thereafter Commissioner Sharp moved that Mr. Jack Reynolds be appointed as a member of the Board of Electrical Examiners, and the following members be reappointed for a term of two years from the effective date of Ordinance No. 610: Mr. Harvey Luce Mr. Ralph Hensinger Mr. Olaf Ericksen Mr. Fred Leonard Mr. A. P. Gibson Motion seconded by Commissioner Bunker and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Sharp and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Commissioner Whipple. A proposed ordinance concerning water conservation and the establishing of further restrictions insofar as water hours in the City, was discussed by the Board of Commissioners. No action was taken on this proposed ordinance at this time. An ordinance entitled: AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE VACATION, REMOVAL, REPAIR, OR DEMOLITION OF ANY BUILDING OR STRUCTURE WHICH IS OR THREATENS TO BE A PUBLIC NUISANCE, DANGEROUS TO THE HEALTH, MORALS, SAFETY, OR GENERAL WELFARE OF THE PEOPLE OF THE CITY OF LAS VEGAS, OR WHICH MIGHT TEND TO CONSTITUTE A FIRE MENACE; AND FOR THE ASSESSMENT OF THE COST OF VACATION, REMOVAL, REPAIR, OR DEMOLITION THEREOF AS A MUNICIPAL LIEN OR ASSESSMENT AGAINST SUCH PREMISES, AND TO PROVIDE FOR THE RECOVERY OF SUCH COSTS IN AN ACTION AT LAW; PROVIDING PENALTIES FOR THE VIOLATION OF THIS ORDINANCE; AND REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR PART OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH, was read in full to the Board at this time. 6-21-54 BOARD OF ELECTRICAL EXAMINERS Appointment WATER CONSERVATION EMERGENCY ORDINANCE" No. 613 Condemned Buildings
