Commissioner Bunker moved the foregoing bids be referred to the Comptroller for tabu­lation and recommendation. Motion seconded by Commissioner Jarrett and carried by the following vote: Commis­sioners Bunker, Jarrett, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. This being the time set for the opening of bids for batteries, the matter was considered by the Board and bids were received from the following firms: GENERAL AUTO PARTS N. L. FAIR VEGAS SPEED SHOP FLINCO, INC. LAS VEGAS AUTO PARTS, INC. LAS VEGAS FIRESTONE DEALERS, INC. HOWARD D. DAVIESS NEVADA BATTERY SUPPLY U. S. TIRE SUPPLY WILLIAM WERNER CLARK COUNTY WHOLESALE MERCANTILE CO. TOKILL GENERAL TIRE Thereafter Commissioner Sharp moved the foregoing bids be referred to the City Manager and the Comptroller for tabulation and recommendation. Motion seconded by Commissioner Bunker and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Motion seconded by Commissioner Sharp and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. This being the time set for the opening of bids for the station wagon, the matter was considered by the Board and bids were received from the following firms: COMMUNITY CHEVROLET $2029.84 Handyman 2207.52 Belair Townsman PAT CLARK PONTIAC $2352.24 8 Cylinder 2299.04 6 Cylinder WERNER GRIFFITH $2679.10 Thereafter Commissioner Sharp moved the foregoing bids be referred to the City Manager and the Comptroller for tabulation and recommendation. Motion seconded by Commissioner Whipple and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Whipple, Sharp and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. At this time Mr. E. T. Silva, represented by Mr. Wm. Coulthard, appeared before the Board regarding the business license of Morvay Building Supply. Mr. Coulthard reported that Mr. Silva was no longer conducting business in his home, but has a business address at 500 West College Avenue, North Las Vegas, Nevada. Mr. Coulthard also presented the Board with letters of recommendation from several business firms. Commissioner Jarrett suggested that these letters be made a matter of record. Commissioner Whipple moved the bid for fertilizer for the Park, Golf Course and Cemetery be awarded to Clark County Wholesale Mercantile in the amount of $11,059.76. Motion seconded by Commissioner Bunker and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Commissioner Whipple moved the bid for grass seed for the Park, Golf Course and Cemetery be awarded to the Clark County Wholesale Mercantile in the amount of $2,598.05. Motion seconded by Commissioner Bunker and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Commissioner Sharp moved the bid of Bill and Bob's Richfield Service for tires and tubes be referred to the City Manager. Motion seconded by Commissioner Jarrett and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Commissioner Jarrett moved the public hearing on the appeal filed by William and Leanna Chadwick of the dedal of their application for variance to construct accessory living quarters at 1619 So. 13th Street be set for April 7, 1954, at 7:30 P.M. Motion seconded by Commissioner Sharp and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none.
