ACCEPTANCE OF NOTICE We, the undersigned Mayor, Commissioners, City Manager and City Attorney of the City of Las Vegas, Nevada, do hereby admit due service of the foregoing notice of Special Meeting. Las Vegas, Nevada March 5, 1954 A special meeting of the Board of Commissioners of the City of Las Vegas, Nevada held this 5th day of March, 1954 was called to order at the hour of 4:00 P.M. by His Honor Mayor Baker with the following members present: Mayor C. D. Baker Commissioner Wendell Bunker Commissioner Rex A. Jarrett Commissioner Haris P. Sharp Commissioner Reed Whipple City Attorney Howard W. Cannon City Manager George Rounthwaite City Clerk Shirley Ballinger At this time a memorandum from the City Attorney regarding the condemnation of A Street was presented and discussed. Thereafter Commissioner Sharp moved the City abandon the condemnation proceedings on A Street. Motion seconded by Commissioner Whipple and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Discussion was held on granting the Police Department a step advance in salary and doing away with their holidays. Thereafter Commissioner Bunker moved this matter be referred to the City Attorney to amend the ordinance to provide for the deletion of holidays and that a step raise in s salary be granted to the Police Department. Motion seconded by Commissioner Jarrett and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Commissioner Jarrett moved that effective March 15, 1954, salaries of the following appointive personnel be adjusted as follows: City Manager (Acting) $850.00 per month Assistant to City Manager 600.00 per month Director of Public Works 800.00 per month Chief of Police 675.00 per month Fire Chief 600.00 per month Comptroller 600.00 per month Motion seconded by Commissioner Bunker and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. There being no further business to come before this Board at this time, the meeting adjourned.
