Cannon ACRES ADDITION - Tentative Map STREET NAME CHANGE - Posada Vista Avene to Burnham Avenue Public Hearing Set PROPOSED ORDINANCE Speeding PROPOSED ORDINANCE Drunk Drivers i PROPOSED ORDINANCE Street Photography PROPOSED ORDINANCE Rezoning Boulder Addn., So. 5th St. Tract #1 and Meadows Addition WHEREAS, on June 11, 1953, the Regional Planning Commission approved the application inasmuch as they felt that there is adequate space to provide for off street parking, the plans of the church show it to be an attractive structure and the Commission did not feel that a church in this location would be detrimental to property values in the area; and WHEREAS, such decision was filed with the Board of Commissioners on June 15, 1953, recommending that such Use Permit be granted. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, the recommendation of the Regional Planning Commission that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints be granted a Use Permit to construct a church in a portion of the SW¼ SW¼ SW¼ Section 32, T20S, R61E, MDB&M., on a lot which is 233 feet by 273 feet and is generally located on the north side of Charleston Boulevard and west of Barnard Drive be and the same hereby is approved. Motion seconded by Commissioner Bunker and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Sharp and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Commissioner Whipple. At this time the Board considered the recommendation of the Regional Planning Commission that the application of the Seventy-Day Adventist Church to conduct a series of religious revival services on the northwest corner of Wilson and D Streets be approved. Commissioner Bunker moved the recommendation of the Planning Commission be approved and the following resolution adopted: WHEREAS, on the 9th day of June, 1953, Pastor H. W. Kibble, Jr., of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church, filed an application with the Regional Planning Commission for Use Per­mit to conduct a series of religious revival services beginning July 1, 1953 and ending October 1, 1953 on the northwest corner of Wilson and "D" Streets in a fire resistant tent which size if 1+0 feet by 50 feet; and WHEREAS, on June 11, 1953, the Regional Planning Commission held a public hearing on this application for Use Permit; and WHEREAS, on June 11, 1953, the Regional Planning Commission voted to recommend that this application for Use Permit be approved subject to adequate parking being made avail­able, and to fire and health department regulations; and WHEREAS, such decision was filed with the Board of Commissioners on June 15, 1953, recommending that such Use Permit be approved. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, the recommendation of the Regional PLanning Commission that the application of Pastor H. W. Kibble, Jr., of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church to conduct a series of religious revival services beginning July 1, 1953 and ending October 1, 1953 on the northwest comer of Wilson and "D" Streets in a fire resistant tent which size is 40 feet by 50 feet be approved subject to adequate parking being made available, and to fire and health department regulations, be and the same hereby is accepted. Motion seconded by Commissioner Jarrett and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Sharp and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Commissioner Whipple. Commissioner Jarrett moved the public hearing on the application of Kenneth R. Cannon to rezone a portion of the NE¼ SE¼ SE¼ NE¼ Section 27, T20S, R61E, MDB&M from R-1 to R-3, property generally located on North 5th Street north of Alpine Village, be held July 15, 1953 at 7:30 P.M. Motion seconded by Commissioner Bunker and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Sharp and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Commissioner Whipple. Commissioner Jarrett moved the tentative map of Acres Addition be referred back to the Regional Planning Commission for realignment of streets. Motion seconded by Commissioner Sharp and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Sharp and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Commissioner Whipple. Commissioner Bunker moved the public hearing on the changing of the name of Posada Vista Avenue to Burnham Avenue be held July 1, 1953 at 7:30 P.M. Motion seconded by Commissioner Jarrett and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Sharp and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Commissioner Whipple. Commissioner Bunker, member of the committee to make recommendation on the proposed Speeding ordinance requested additional time before reporting. An ordinance entitled: AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND CHAPTER 36, SECTION 42, CODE OF LAS VEGAS, NEVADA, 1949, MAKING IT UNLAWFUL FOR ANY PERSON TO DRIVE A MOTOR VEHICLE WHILE INTOXICATED OR UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF INTOXICATING LIQUORS, OR STIMULATING OR STUPEFYING DRUGS; PROVID­ING FOR FINES AND PENALTIES UPON CONVICTION; PROVIDING FOR OTHER MATTERS PROPERLY RELATED THERETO; AND REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES AND PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH, was read by title and referred to Commissioners Bunker and Whipple. It was the determination of the Board that the proposed Speeding Ordinance and the above entitled Drunk Drivers Ordinance should be incorporated in one ordinance. Commissioners Jarrett and Sharp requested additional time before reporting on the proposed ordinance regulating Street Photography. An ordinance entitled: AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND SECTION IV OF ORDINANCE NO. 378, REFERRED TO AS SECTION 10, CHAPTER 24, OF THE LAS VEGAS CITY CODE, 1949, BY AMENDING THE LAND USE PLAN MAP ADOPTED BY THE CITY OF LAS VEGAS, AND CHANGING THE ZONE DESIGNATION OF CERTAIN AREAS ON THE SAID MAP, WAS READ BY TITLE AND REFERRED TO Commissioners Jarrett and Sharp for recommendation.
