Absent: Commissioners Jarrett and Peccole. Commissioner Whipple moved the bid of Wells Cargo Company for improvements in Assessment District No. 100-20 in the total amount of $338,923.35 be accepted subject to their furnishing the requir­ed performance bond and subject to the sale of the bonds for this District, and the Mayor and City Clerk authorized to sign the contract. Motion seconded by Commissioner Bunker and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Whipple and His Honor voting ayej noes, none. Absent: Commissioners Jarrett and Peccole. Commissioner Bunker moved the bid of Longley Construction Company for the installation of improve-ments in Assessment District No. 200-12 in the total amount of $5,437.00 be accepted subject to their furnishing the performance bond and subject to the sale of the bonds on this District, and the Mayor and City Clerk authorized to sign the contract. Motion seconded by Commissioner Whipple and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Whipple and His Honor voting ayej noes, none. Absent: Commissioners Jarrett and Peccole. Commissioner Whipple moved that due to the fact that the bids opened on May 6, 1953 for the 9- hole extension to the Golf Course were greatly in excess of the amount of money budgeted for this purpose, that all bids be rejected. Motion seconded by Commissioner Bunker and carried by the following voter Commissioners Bunker, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Commissioners Jarrett and Peccole. The City Manager was instructed to go over the plans and specifications for this proposed exen-sion of the Golf Course with architect William P. Bell in order that the City can readvertise for bids for this improvement as soon as possible. Commissioner Bunker moved that pursuant to the recommendation of the City Manager, the bid of the Couthern Nevada Disinfectant Company on bid No. 53.20 for the furnishing of multilith paper to the City of Las Vegas in the total amount of $258.20 be accepted. Motion seconded by Commissioner Whipple and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Commissioners Jarrett and Peccole. Commissioner Whipple moved that pursuant to the recommendation of the City Manager, the low bid of Community Chevrolet Company on Bid No. 53.21 for the furnishing of three pickup trucks to the City of Las Vegas in the total amount of $3,745.83, be accepted. Motion seconded by Commissioner Bunker and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Commissioners Jarrett and Peccole. Commissioner Whipple moved that pursuant to the recommendation of the City Manager, the low bid of the Community Chevrolet Company on Bid No. 53.22 for the furnishing of one standard coupe and one standard sedan for the City of Las Vegas in the total amount of $2,953.70 be accepted. Motion seconded by Commissioner Bunker and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Commissioners Jarrett and Peccole. Commissioner Bunker moved the application of the Union Cab Company 722 North Main Street for li­cense for one additional taxicab for the second quarter of 1953 be approved. Motion seconded by Commissioner Whipple and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Commissioners Jarrett and Peccole. Commissioner Bunker moved the application of M.M. Bishop and Don M. Willson dba Mercy Ambulance Service, 507½ Bridger Street for license for one ambulance for the second quarter of 1953, be approved subject to their complying with the necessary insurance requirements; further that the following rate schedule be approved: $10.00 For the first mile 1.00 For each mile thereafter Motion seconded by Commissioner Whipple and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Commissioners Jarrett and Peccole. Commissioner Whipple moved that Service and Material Warrants Nos. 2414 to 2424 inclusive in the total amount of $23,237.96 be approved and the Mayor and City Clerk authorized to sign same. Motion seconded by Commissioner Bunker and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Commissioners Jarrett and Peccole. Commissioner Whipple moved the application of J.S. Pappas, Mildred Pappas and George Sima, dba White Spot Cafe, 126 North 1st Street for a Restaurant Beverage license for the second quarter of 1953 be approved subject to investigation by the Police Department. Motion seconded by Commissioner Bunker and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Commissioners Jarrett and Peccole. The public hearing on the rezoning of certain portions of the proposed Herr Estates Subdivision from R-l to R-2, R-3 and R-4, having been recessed from the regular meeting of May 6, 1953 until this time, the matter was considered by the Board at this time. Commissioner Whipple moved the rezoning of this proposed subdivision be approved as follows: Those lots fronting on the north line of Ballard Drive and 197 feet from the east line of Eastern Avenue for a distance of 180 feet be rezoned from R-1 to R-3. From this point to Houston Drive, those lots backing on Euclid Avenue be rezoned from R-l to R-4. The remaining lots in the pro­posed Herr Estates Subdivision, beginning at a line 240 feet east of the easterly line of Eastern Avenue be rezoned from R-l to R-3.
