OPENING OF BID NO.53.20 Multilith Paper BID NO. 53.21 Pickup Trucks BID NO. 53.22 Coupe & Sedan GOLF COURSE EXTENSION - Opening of Bid WHEREAS, the said Ex-Officio City Assessor has prepared such Assessment Roll in accordance with said Ordinance and on the 6th day of May, 1953, filed said Assessment Roll with City Clerk of the City of Las Vegas, all as directed by Section 7 of said Emergency Ordinance No. 545; and WHEREAS, said roll was numbered by the City Clerk of the City of Las Vegas as directed by Section 8 of said Emergency Ordinance No. 545; and WHEREAS, the time has arrived to direct the Notice of Special Assessment to be published as required by Section 67 of the Charter of the City of Las Vegas, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Las Vegas, at a regular meeting thereof held on the 6th day of May, 1953, that the City Clerk and Clerk of the Board of Commissioners be and she is hereby directed to publish notice of the time and place when and where the Board and the County Assessor and Ex-Officio City Assessor will meet to consider objections to said special assessment roll and to review said assessments, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that said Notice of Special Assessment shall be published once a week for two successive weeks, to-wit on May 8, 1953 and May 15, 1953, in the Las Vegas Sun, a daily newspaper published in the City of Las Vegas. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that said Notice of Special Assessment shall be in substantially the form attached to this Resolution and made a part hereof, ADOPTED AND APPROVED this 6th day of May, 1953. Motion seconded by Commissioner Jarrett and carried by the following voter Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Commissioner Peccole. This being the time heretofore set for the opening of Bid No. 53.20 for the furnishing of Multilith paper, the following bids were received: Southern Nevada Disinfectant Co. $258.24 Blake Moffitt & Towne 260.16 Albrights 250.75 Sarrett Office Equipment 286.08 Commissioner Bunker moved the foregoing bids be referred to the City Manager and Comptroller for check and computation. Motion seconded by Commissioner Whipple and carried by the following voter Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Commissioner Peccole, This being the time heretofore set for the opening of Bid No. 53.21 for the furnishing of three pickup trucks, bids were received from the following firms: A.C. Grant $4,097.00 Clark County Wholesale 3,840.20 Johnny Williams 1,615.00 ea. Community Chevrolet 3,745,83 Mr. George J. Paulk submitted a bid to purchase one of the trade in trucks in the amount of $125.00. Thereafter Commissioner Whipple moved the foregoing bids be referred to the City Manager and Comptroller for check and computation. Motion seconded by Commissioner Bunker and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Commissioner Peccole. This being the time heretofore set for the opening of Bid No. 53.22 for one standard coupe and one sedan, bids were received from the following firms: A.C. Grant $3,348,00 Community Chevrolet 2,953.70 Nash Vegas 2,500.00 (For the sedan only) Thereafter Commissioner Jarrett moved the foregoing bids be referred to the City Manager and Comptroller for check and computation. Motion seconded by Commissioner Whipple and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Commissioner Peccole, This being the time heretofore set for the opening of bids for the installation of the 9-hole extension to the Las Vegas Municipal Golf Course, bids were received from the following firms: Carter & Schneider $96,359.63 Longley Construction Co, 90,000.00 Bids were received from the following firms, but unopened due to the fact that these companies do not have State Contractors licenses: D, & M. Sprinkler Co, 3730 Atlantic Blvd. Long Beach, Calif. General Irrigation Corp. 13000 So. Avalon Los Angeles, Calif.
