Richards, Municipal Judge for $175.00 expenses to attend the annual Traffic Court Conference at Berkeley, California, February 2 to 6, 1953 be approved. Motion seconded by Commissioner Peccole and carried by the following vote; Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Peccole, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Commissioner Bunker moved the request of the City Attorney for $150.00 expenses for his Assistant to attend Traffic Court Conference in Berkeley, California, February 2 to 6, 1953, be approved provided Mr. Cannon does not have to attend the CAB hearing in Washington. Motion seconded by Commissioner Whipple and carried by the following vote; Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Peccole, Whipple, and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Commissioner Jarrett moved the request of Young & Smith Construction Co. for payment for extra work on Assessment District No. 100-16 in the total amount of #18,381.01 be approved and the Mayor and City Clerk authorized to sign the warrant when prepared. Motion seconded by Commissioner Bunker and carried by the following vote; Commissioners Bunker, Peccole, Jarrett, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. The re quest of Mr. Ralph Lowe to maintain a Kiddy Amusement Center on the corner of 12th & Fremont Street was referred to the City Manager for investigation. This being the time set for the receiving bids for the purchase of the following described property, to-wit: PARCEL 1. Portions of Section 16, 17, T 21 S. R 61 E, MDB&M approximately 55 acres, 500 foot frontage to the west side of Highway 91 between the Sands and Flamingo Hotel. PARCEL 2. Block 8 of Biltmore Addition, Annex No. 3 His Honor asked if any bids had been received. There were none. An Ordinance entitled: AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THe PROTECTION OF THE PUBLIC HEALTH AND SAFETY, AND THE EXAMINATION.. REGISTRATION, LICENSING OF PERSONS ENGAGED IN THE BUSINESS OF PLUMBING, OR LABORING AT THE TRADE OF PLUMBING AND DRAINAGE SYSTEMS; CREATING AND administrative OFFICE AND a BOARD OF PLUMBERS EXAMINERS, AND PRESCRIBING THEIR DUTIES; defining certain t erms; establishing minimum regulations for the installation, alteration OR REPAIR OF PLUMBING AND DRAINAGE SYSTEMS AND THE INSPECTION THEREOF; PROVIDING PENALTIES FOR itS VIOLATION AND REPEALING ORDINANCE NO. 476 , and ALL OTHER ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT THEREWITH; having been reported on favorably by Commissioners Peccole and Whipple was read in full to the Board. Thereafter Commissioner Peccole moved the above entitled ordinance No. 520 be adopted. Motion seconded by Commissioner Whipple and carried by the following vote; Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Peccole, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Commissioners Bunker and Peccole, committee for report on the proposed ordinance to adopt the 1952 Edition of the Building Code requested additional time before reporting until the Volume No. 3 of said Code has been received. Commissioners Bunker and Jarrett, committee for recommendation on the proposed ordinance amending the Animal Ordinance, requested additional time before reporting. An Ordinance entitled: AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND CERTAIN SECTIONS OF CHAPTER 17, CODE OF THE CITY OF LAS VEGAS, 1949, BY PROVIDING FOR THE POWERS AND DUTIES OF THE CITY CLERK AS TO THE COLLECTION OF LICENSES; PROVIDING THE DUTY OF THE LICENSEE AS TO PAYMENTS; CHANGING THE RATE OF LICENSE TAX FOR TRAILER PARKS AND COURTS, AND OTHER MATTERS PROPERTY RELATED THERETO, having been referred to Commissioners Peccole and Whipple, was reported on favorably at this time with the following revision. It is recommended that quarterly license fees for Trailer Parks in the City of Las Vegas be as follows: a) For one to 18 Trailer Spaces, #20.00 b) for 19 to 30 Trailer Spaces, 25.00 c) For 31 to 50 Trailer Spaces; 3 0.00 d) For 51 to 80 Trailer Spaces, 35.00 e) For 81 Trailer Spaces and above 50.00 Thereafter the ordinance was read in full as recommended, and Commissioner Peccole moved the above entitled Ordinance No. 519 be approved and adopted as read. Motion seconded by Commissioner Whipple and carried by the following vote; Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Peccole, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Commissioners Jarrett and Whipple, committee for recommendation on the proposed ordinance concerning sign permit fees, requested additional time before reporting. An ordinance entitled: AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND EMERGENCY ORDINANCE NO. 4 6 8 ENTITLED: " AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF LA S VEGAS, COUNTY OF CLARK, STATE OF NEVADA, CREATING AND ESTABLISHING CIVIL SERVICE RULES AND REGULATIONS FOR THE EMPLOYEES OF SAID CITY, DEFINING TERMS; PROVIDING FOR EXAMINATION; ESTABLISHING ELIGIBILITY REPORTS AND RECORDS; CLASSIFICATION AND PAY PLANS; AND ALL
