SEWER PROJECT F i n a l Payment ENGINEER BOARD Appointment PROPOSED ORDINANCE Signs PROPOSED ORDINANCE T r a i l e r L ic e n s e PROPOSED ORDINANCE Animals RESOLUTION Street Decorations An Ordinance entitled: AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND SECTION IV OF ORDINANCE NO. 378 ALSO REFERRED TO AS SECTION 10, CHAPTER 24, OF THE LAS VEGAS CITY CODE, 1949, BY AMENDING THE LAND USE PLAN MAP ADOPTED BY THE CITY OF LAS VEGAS, AND CHANGING THE ZONE DESIGNATION OF CERTAIN AREAS ON THE SAID MAP: having been reported on favorably by Commissioners Bunker and Peccole, was read in full to the Board. Thereafter Commissioner Peccole moved the above entitled Ordinance No. 516 be adopted. Motion seconded by Commissioner Bunker and carried by the following vote; Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, PECCOLE, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Commissioners Bunker and Peccole reported favorably on the proposed ordinance to adopt the Building Code. Thereafter Commissioner Bunker moved the City Clerk be ordered to publish the required notice that the Building Code is on file and ready for adoption. Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett and Peccole were appointed to meet with the Planning Commission and John Lynott on the street right-of-way in Maryland Parkway Tract No. 2. Commissioner Whipple moved that pursuant to the recommendation of the City Engineer that the San Fran­cisco Street Sewer Project be accepted, that the request of Wells Cargo Inc. for final payment in the total amount of $4,850.72 be approved and the Mayor and City Clerk authorized to sign the warrant when prepared. Motion seconded by Commissioner Peccole and carried by the following vote; Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Peccole, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Commissioner Peccole moved the recommendation of the Nevada Society of Professional Engineers, Southern Nevada Chapter, that the following be appointed as members of the Engineering Board, be accepted: HARLAN BROWN GEORGE VON TOBEL C.C. BOYER Motion seconded by Commissioner Jarrett and carried by the following vote; Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Peccole, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Commissioners Jarrett and Whipple, committee for recommendation on the proposed sign ordinance requested additional time before reporting. An Ordinance entitled: AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND CERTAIN SECTIONS OF CHAPTER 17, CODE OF THE CITY OF LAS VEGAS, 1949, BY PROVIDING FOR THE POWERS AND DUTIES OF THE CITY CLERK aS TO THE COLLECTION OF LICENSES; PROVIDING FOR THE DUTY OF THE LICENSEE AS TO PAYMENTS, CHANGING THE RAIL OF LICENSE TAX FOR TRAILER PARKS AND COURTS, AND OTHER MATTERS PROPERLY RELATED THERETO, AND REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES AND PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT THEREWITH; was read by title and referred to Commissioner Peccole and Whipple for recommendation. An Ordinance entitled: AN ORDINANCE TO REPEAL ORDINANCES NO. 331, AND 345, ALSO KNOWN AS CHAPTER 4, CODE OF LAS VEGAS, NEVADA, 1949 BY PROVIDING FOR A PUBLIC POUND, APPOINTING A POUND KEEPER AND PRESCRIBING HIS POWERS AND DUTIES; PROVIDING FOR THE REGISTRATION OF DOGS AND OTHER ANIMALS; PROVIDING FOR THE REDEMPTION, SALE, OR OTHER DISPOSITION OF DOGS AND OTHER ANIMALS IMPOUNDED; PROHIBITING CRUELTY TO ANIMALS, DEFINING CRUELTY TO ANIMALS; PROVIDING A PENALTY FOR THE VIOLATION OF THIS ORDINANCE; PROVIDING FOR OTHER MATTERS RELATED THERETO; AND REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT THERE­WITH; was read by title and referred to Commissioners Bunker and Jarrett for recommendation. At this time Commissioner Peccole left the meeting. Commissioner Whipple moved the following resolution commending the Junior Chamber of Commerce for the Christmas Decorations on Fremont Street be adopted and made a portion of the Minutes of this Board. WHEREAS, the junior Chamber of Commerce of the City of Las Vegas by hard work and diligence, and with a deep sense of pride in their City was instrumental in decorating Fremont Avenue from Main to 6 th Streets in a true Christmas motif; and WHEREAS, all the citizens of the City of Las Vegas appreciate the results achieved by the efforts of the Junior Chamber of Commerce in beautifying their City during the Holiday Season; and WHEREAS, no one is more appreciative of these efforts than the Board of City Commissioners of the City of Las Vegas, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Las Vegas, Nevada, at a regular meeting thereof held on the 17th day of December, 1952, that the said City by this Resolution extends its compliments and appreciation to the Junior Chamber of Commerce of the City of Las Vegas for the excellent Christmas Decorations placed on Fremont Street during the 1952 Holiday Season; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Clerk be and she hereby is directed to spread a copy of this Resolution on the Minutes of the Books of said City; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Clerk be and she hereby is directed to send a copy of this Resolution to the Junior Chamber of Commerce of the City of Las Vegas. Motion seconded by Commissioner Jarrett and carried by the following vote; Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Commissioner Peccole.
