210 REZONING Paradise Park REZONING Cadillac arms PLUMBING CODE ORDINANCE NO. 514 Board of Appeals ORDINANCE NO. 515 Inspection Boards NEW PACKAGE Liquor Licenses GAMING APPLICATIONS CIGARETTE LICENSE WHEREAS, on December 11, 1952, the Regional Planning Commission approved the application as they did not feel this use would be detrimental to surrounding properties; and WHEREAS, such decision was filed with the Board of Commissioners on December 17, 1952, recommending that such variance be granted. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, the recommendation of. the Regional Planning Commission that Thomas Beam be granted a variance to construct a motel on property located on the South side of Baltimore. Avenue and West of Fifth Street described as Lots 9, 10, 11 and 12 in Block. 3 of Meadows Addition, be and the same hereby is approved. Motion seconded by Commissioner Jarrett and carried by the following vote; Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Peccole, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Commissioner Bunker moved the Public Hearing on the application of John Replogle for the rezoning of Lots 1 to 13, Block 1, Lots 16 to 19, Block 2 and Lots 16 to 19, Block 3 of the Proposed Paradise Park Subdivision from R-l to R-3 be held January 7, 1953, at 7:30 P.M. Motion seconded by. Commissioner Whipple and carried by the following vote; Commissioners Bunker, Whipple, Peccole and His Honor voting aye; noes, Commissioner Jarrett. Commissioner Whipple moved the Public Hearing on the rezoning of a certain portion of the proposed Cadillac Arms Subdivision from R-l and R-2 to C-2 be set for January 7, 1953 at 7:30 P.M. Motion seconded by Commissioner Bunker and carried by the following vote; Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Peccole, Whipple, and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. time At this/the meeting recessed. The meeting reconvened at the hour of 9:55 P.M. with all members present as of the opening session. Commissioners "Whipple and Jarrett, committee for recommendation of the proposed ordinance reported favorably on this ordinance. Thereafter Commissioner Whipple moved the City Clerk be ordered to publish the required notice that the Plumbing Code is on file and ready for adoption by the Board. An Ordinance entitled: AN ORDINANCE CREATING A BOARD OF APPEALS TO HEAR AND DETERMINE APPEALS FROM RULINGS OF THE BUILDING DEPARTMENT; PROVIDING FOR THE MEMBERS; THEIR DUTIES; AND OTHER MATTERS PROPERLY RELATED THERETO; AND REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT THEREWITH, Having been read in full to the Board and reported on favorably by Commissioners Jarrett and Whipple. Commissioner Whipple moved the above entitled ordinance No. 515 be adopted. Motion seconded by Commissioner Jarrett and carried by the following vote; Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Peccole, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. an Ordinance entitled: AN ORDINANCE TO CONSOLIDATE INSPECTION PROCEDURE WITHIN THE CITY OF LAS VEGAS: CONSOLIDATING THE BUILDING DEPARTMENT OF THE CITY OF LAS VEGAS: PROVIDING FOR THE QUALIFICATIONS OF THE INSPECTORS IN SAID DEPARTMENT; AND OTHER MATTERS PROPERLY RELATING THERETO: AND REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT THEREWITH: Having been reported on favorably by Commissioners Jarrett and Whipple was read in full to the Board. Commissioner Bunker moved the population figure of 33,000 plus indicates that there are two Package Liquor Licenses available, and the Board will receive applications on December 30, 1952, and hereafter will consider new licenses at the last meetings in June and December each year. Motion seconded by Commissioner Peccole and carried by the following vote; Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Peccole, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Commissioner Whipple moved the application of Sam Cohen, Tivoli Turf, 126 North 1st for a Race Book License and Johnnie Lane, Johnnie Lane's Race Book, 115 North 1st street for a Race Book License be denied. Motion seconded by Commissioner Bunker and carried by the following vote; Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Commissioner Peccole passed his vote. Commissioner Whipple moved the application of the Western Cigar Company for a cigarette license at Al-Ray Liquor Store, 209 Stewart Street be approved. Motion seconded by Commissioner Peccole and carried by the following vote; Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Peccole, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none.
