Baker Commissioner Bunker moved approval of the Assessment Roll on Assessment District No. 200-5 be held in abeyance until the next regular meeting on August 6, 1952. Motion seconded by Commissioner Peccole and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Peccole and His Honor Mayor Pro Tem Whipple voting aye; noes, none. Absent; Mayor Baker. Commissioner Peccole moved that the award of the bid for the installation of improvements in Assessment District No. 200-5 be deferred until the next regular meeting on August 6, 1952. Motion seconded by Commissioner Bunker and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Peccole and His Honor Mayor Pro Tem Whipple voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Mayor Baker. Mr. Dave Sirotta appeared before the Board at this time relative to the possibility of having angle parking on North 1st and North 2nd Streets between Fremont and Stewart. Mr. Sirotta explained that the businessmen in that district would be willing to pay a reasonable fee in order that the streets could be widened to permit this type of parking. Discussion was held but no action taken at this time. At this time a public hearing was held relative to the shortage of water in this community. Mr. W.H. Johnson, representative of the Las Vegas Land and Water Company was present to discuss the matter with the Board of Commissioners. Thereafter Commissioner Bunker moved the City Attorney be instructed to prepare a formal request petitioning the Public Service Commission to proceed immediately to augment the water supply in this area. Motion seconded by Commissioner Peccole and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Peccole and His Honor Mayor Pro Tem Whipple voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Mayor Baker.
