    That property bordered on the north by Palomino Lane, on the south by Hastings Avenue, on the west by Shadow Lane and on the east by the Union Pacific Railroad property. His Honor asked if there was anyone present who wished to object to this property rezoning. Mr. Ray Smith appeared before the Board objecting to this rezoning. Commissioner Whipple moved this matter be referred back to the Regional Planning Commission for a more definite lay out of streets, the securing of the rights-of-way and proposed im­provements. Motion seconded by Commissioner Peccole and carried by the following vote: Commissioner Jarrett, Peccole, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Commissioner Bunker. Commissioner Whipple stated that he would like to have a letter written to Wood-Pyle Com­pany thanking them for the outstanding job they have done during the past years auditing the City Accounts. He reported that it was the thought of the committee that this money should be spent locally, and it was their recommendation to accept the proposal of Clar­ence T. Hibbs. Commissioner Whipple moved that Clarence T. Hibbs be hired to do the auditing of City Accounts for 1952 at a cost not to exceed $2500.00. Motion seconded by Commissioner Peccole and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Jarrett, Peccole, Whipple and His. Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Commissioner Bunker. This being the time set for the opening of Bid No. 52.5 for the furnishing of tires, bids were, received from the following firms: Cashmans Bill & Bobs Service Clark County Wholesale L. E. Clark Signal Oil Ted Werner U.S. Tire Supply Commissioner Whipple moved the foregoing bids be referred to. the City Manager and Comp­troller for recommendation. Motion seconded by Commissioner Peccole and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Jarrett, Peccole, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Commissioner Bunker. This being the time set for the opening of Bid No. 52.6 for the furnishing of batteries, bids were received from the following firms: U. S. Tire Supply Las Vegas Auto Parts Herb Hill Ted Werner Bill & Bobs Service Clark County Wholesale Cardinal Battery L. E. Clark Signal Oil Cashmans Commissioner Whipple moved the foregoing bids be referred to the City Manager and Comptroller for recommendation. Motion seconded by Commissioner Peccole and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Jarrett, Peccole, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Commissioner Bunker. Commissioner Whipple moved that Bid No. 52.4 be awarded to the low bidder, Signal Oil Company. Motion seconded by Commissioner Peccole and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Jarrett, Peccole, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Commissioner Bunker. Commissioner Whipple moved that action on the application of Patsy Malpede and Glenn Mar­shall, Nevada Bar, 115 North 1st for a Restaurant Beverage license be held in aveyance until the ordinance is amended. Motion seconded by Commissioner Jarrett and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Jarrett, Peccole, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Commissioner Bunker. Commissioners Jarrett and Whipple were appointed as a committee to make a recommendation to the Board on the request of Cleveland Schultz to purchase a portion of City property located on the Los Angeles Highway, and report back at the next regular meeting on April 2, 1952. Commissioner Whipple moved the public hearing on the appeal of Richard Toleno on the de­cision of the Regional Planning Commission on his application for variance at 341 North 10th Street be set for April 16, 1952 at 7:30 P.M. Motion seconded by Commissioner Jarrett and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Jarrett, Peccole, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Commissioner Bunker.
