An ordinance entitled: AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND CHAPTER 13, SECTION 1, CODE OF THE CITY OF LAS VEGAS, NEVADA, 1949, BY ALLOWING ALIMS TO ENGAGE IN CERTAIN OCCUPATIONS IN GAMBLING ESTABLISHMENTS; AND REPEALING AIL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDIN- NACES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH, having been reported on favorably by Commissioners Bunker and Jarrett was read in full to the Board. Commissioner Bunker moved the above entitled Ordinance No. 477 be adopted. Motion seconded by Commissioner Jarrett and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Peccole, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Commissioners Bunker and Whipple, committee for recommendation on the proposed ordinances amending the Solicitor and Canvassers ordinance, the Peddlers ordinance and the Itinerant Merchants ordinance, requested additional time before reporting. Commissioners Jarrett and Whipple, committee for recommendation on the proposed ordinance on smoking, requested additional time before reporting. An ordinance entitled: AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND SECTION IV, OF ORDINANCE NO, 378, ALSO REFERRED TO AS SECTION 10, CHAPTER 24, OF THE LAS VEGAS CITY CODE, BY AMENDING THE LAND USE PLAN MAP ADOPTED BY THE CITY OF LAS VEGAS, AND CHANGING THE ZONE DESIGNATION OF CERTAIN AREAS ON THE SAID MAP, having been reported on favorably by Commissioners Bunker and Jarrett, was read in full to the Board, Commissioner Bunker moved the above entitled Ordinance No, 478 be adopted. Motion seconded by Commissioner Jarrett and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Peccole, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Commissioners Bunker and Jarrett, committee for recommendation on the proposed ordinance amending the Minor Ordinance requested additional time before reporting. Mr. William Carter of the Teamsters Union appeared before the Board requesting the reinstatement of the Traffic School. Mr. Carter and Mr, Cantlon outlined a safety program the taxi owners and drivers have endorsed. Commissioners Bunker and Jarrett were appointed to report on this matter at the next meeting on February 27, 1952, Mr. Jay Brewer also appeared before the Board and presented a report on taxicab rates. Commissioners Jarrett and Whipple were appointed to report on this matter on March 5, 1952, Discussion was held with C. C, Boyer, City Engineer and Otis Wright of the State Highway Department regarding the proposed islands to be installed on South 5th Street, There being no further business to come before the meeting at this time Commissioner Jarrett moved this meeting recess until February 27, 1952 at the hour of 7:30 P. M.
