Thereafter Commissioner Peccole moved this alley be vacated as recommended by the Regional Planning Commission subject to the conditions set forth by said Planning Commission, that the utilities on this block be moved with the consent and inspection of the proper City, authorities concerned, to be approved by the Building Department and Fire Department, and this vacation be subject to approval of the City Attorney; further that the following or­der be adopted: ORDER A Petition, dated the 17th day of November, 1941, signed by three (3) free­holders residing in the area affected, having been filed with the Clerk of this Board, petitioning for the vacation of the alley in Block 20 of Ladd's Addition hereinafter described, and said Petition having been by Order of this Board referred to the Plan­ning Commission of the City of Las Vegas for its recommendation in the premises, and said Planning Commission having filed its report, dated January 2, 1952, with this Board approving and recommending said vacation; And this Board, by an Order made at its regular meeting held on the 16th day of January, 1952, set the 20th day of February, 1952, at the hour of 7:30 o'clock P. M. at the Commissioner's Room of the Board of Commissioners, in the War Memorial Building, located at the Northwest Corner of Fifth and Stewart Streets, in the City of Las Vegas, Clark County, Nevada, as the time and place for a public hearing on said Petition and recommendation, and ordered the City Clerk, to cause the aforesaid alley to be vacated to be posted with a Notice setting forth the time and place of the public hearing and the extent of the proposed vacation; And it appearing from the Affidavit of Charles V, Cudney, filed with the Clerk of this Board, that the Notice provided for in said Order, a copy of which Notice is attached to said Affidavit, was posted on the 18th day of January, 1952, in the manner prescribed by said Order; And this being the time fixed for the hearing on said Petition for vacation and the recommendation of the Planning Commission thereon, and this Board having heard evi­dence in support of and there being no opposition to said Petition and recommendation; And it appearing to the satisfaction of this Board that the alley proposed to be va­cated is no longer required for the public use and convenience, that said vacation will inure to the benefit of the City of Las Vegas, and that neither the public nor any person will be materially injured thereby; IT IS HEREBY ORDERED that the following described alley, to-wit: That alley extending from North 14th to North 15th Street in Block 20, Ladd's Addition, as shown on plat of Resubdivision of Block 20, Ladd's Addition, recorded in Book 2 of Flats, page 56, Clark County Nevada records, be, and the same is hereby, vacated. Motion seconded by Commissioner Bunker and carried by the following vote: Commis­sioners Bunker, Peccole, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Commissioner Jarrett passed his vote. REZONING - R-1 to R-2 This being the time heretofore set for the public hearing on the rezoning from R-1 Boulder Dam Homesites to R-2 of the following described property: Tract No. 1 Lots 1 through 48 inclusive of Block 5 and Lots 1 through 48 inclusive of Block 4, all in Boulder Dam Homesite Addition Tract No. 1. His Honor asked if there were any objections to the re zoning of this property. There were no objections voiced. Thereafter Commissioner Peccole moved the above described property be rezoned from R-1 to R-2, and the recommendation of the Planning Commission accepted. Motion seconded by Commissioner Whipple and carried by the following vote: Commis­sioners Bunker, Jarrett, Peccole, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none PUBLIC HEARING SET - Commissioner Whipple moved the public hearing on the vacation of a portion of Vacation of H Street H Street be set for April 2, 1952 at the hour of 7:30 P.M. Motion seconded by Commissioner Peccole and carried by the following vote: Commis­sioners Bunker, Jarrett, Peccole, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. AMENDED RESOLUTION - Commissioner Whipple moved the following resolution be adopted: Assessment District No, 100-11 AMENDED RESOLUTION 5th Street Lighting WHEREAS, that portion of South Fifth Street hereinafter described, has been and still is without adequate street lighting; and WHEREAS, numerous requests have been made for the installation of Street light­ing along the said South Fifth Street; and. WHEREAS, a Resolution was passed on the 3rd day of October, 1951, ordering the City Engineer to prepare plats, diagrams and estimates of cost for the installation of complete street lighting facilities; and
