PUBLIC HEARING - Commissioner Whipple moved the public hearing on the rezoning of certain Rezoning property located at 711 "H" Street, owned by Mr. F. E. Searway to be Searway Property rezoned from R-E to R-2, heretofore continued, be further continued for further study until September 5, 1951. Motion seconded by Commissioner Jarrett and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Jarrett, Peccole, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Commissioner Bunker. PUBLIC HEARING - This being the continuation of the public hearing on the rezoning of the Cantrell Property property owned by Mr. W. W. Cantrell from R-1 to G-2, more particularly Fremont Street described as follows: From R-1 (single family) to C-2 (general commercial) in that portion of the westerly 476 feet of the Southwest Quarter (SW¼) of the Southeast Quarter (SE¼) of the Southeast Quarter (SE¼) of Section 35, Township 20 South, Range 61 East, MDB&M, lying north of a line parallel to the North Right-of-Way line of East Fremont Street and 150 feet Distant therefrom. His Honor asked if there was anyone present who wished to protest the rezoning of the above described property. There were no objections voiced. Thereafter Commissioner Peccole moved this rezoning be approved. Motion seconded by Commissioner Whipple and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Jarrett, Peccole, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Commissioner Bunker. Commissioner Whipple moved the City Manager be requested to instruct the Building Department and the Engineering Department that when plans are brought in for the development of the above described and adjacent property that an alley be reserved. Also when new plans come in a letter be given to them calling this fact to their attention. Motion seconded by Commissioner Peccole and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Jarrett, Peccole, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Commissioner Bunker. STREETS - Blockade The matter of the report that Dr. Kassabian has blocked certain portions of of San Francisco & San Francisco and Talbot Streets was brought before the Board at this time. Talbot Streets After considerable discussion it was decided that the City Attorney should be instructed to write a letter to Dr. Kassabian requesting him to remove the blockades or else further action will be taken. SERVICE & MATERIAL Commissioner Peccole moved Service and Material Warrant No. 2171 in the total WARRANT amount of $77.57 be approved and the Mayor and City Clerk authorized to sign same. Motion seconded by Commissioner Whipple and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Jarrett, Peccole, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Commissioner Bunker. SHRINE CONVENTION - At this time a letter from Mr. Fred Dahlia, of Chicago, Illinois requesting Request for Concessions information on Concessions during the Shrine Convention to be held during September of this year, was presented for consideration. Commissioner Whipple moved Mr. Dahlin be notified that he must meet the requirements of the City Code insofar as licensing is concerned and secure approval of the Chairman of the Shriners of the City who are in charge of the Convention. Motion seconded by Commissioner Jarrett and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Jarrett, Peccole, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Commissioner Bunker. PAHOR TRACT - Commissioner Peccole moved the tentative and final maps on the Pahor Tract be Tentative & Final approved subject to the conditions set forth by the City Manager, and the Mayor Maps and City Clerk be authorized to sign the final map. Motion seconded by Commissioner Jarrett and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Jarrett, Peccole, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Commissioner Bunker. ASSESSMENT DISTRICT Commissioner Whipple moved that pursuant to the recommendation of the Engineering No. 100-2 Department the request for partial payment on Assessment District No. 100-2 by Partial Payment Wells Cargo in the total amount of $28,997.55 be approved and the Mayor and City Clerk authorized to sign same. Motion seconded by Commissioner Jarrett and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Jarrett, Peccole, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Commissioner Bunker. At this time Commissioner Bunker arrived at the meeting.
