PAWNSHOP LICENSE Commissioner Moore moved that pursuant to the favorable recommendation of the Police Stoney’s Department the application of Gynna H. Arnold, Stoney’s, 128 South 1st Street for a Pawn­shop license be granted. Motion seconded by Commissioner Peccole and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Moore, Peccole and His Honor Mayor Pro Tem Whipple voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Mayor Cragin. PAWNSHOP LICENSE Commissioner Moore moved that pursuant to the favorable recommendation of the Police Depart- State Loan & ment, the application of Kenneth lynch and Dr. A. Coblentz, State Loan & Jewelry Company, Jewelry Co. 104 Fremont Street for a pawnshop license be granted. Motion seconded by Commissioner Peccole and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Moore, Peccole and His Honor Mayor Pro Tem Whipple voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Mayor Cragin. LIQUOR APPLICATION Commissioner Moore moved that pursuant to the favorable recommendation of the Police Depart- Tivoli Tavern ment the request of Joyce Primrose Lane and Marvin M. Wells to have their new partners names, Albert Jensen and Syl Degregorio on the liquor license issued to the Tivoli Tavern, 126 North 1st Street, be approved. Motion seconded by Commissioner Bunker and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Moore, Peccole and His Honor Mayor Pro Tem Whipple voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Mayor Cragin. ORDINANCE NO. 405 An ordinance entitled: AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND SECTION 9 OF ORDINANCE NO. 350 OF THE CITY OF Gaming LAS VEGAS, ENTITLED: "AN ORDINANCE TO PROHIBIT GAMING AND OPERATION OF SLOT MACHINES IN THE CITY OF LAS VEGAS WITHOUT FIRST OBTAINING A LICENSE THEREFOR; REGULATING THE SAME; FIX- ING THE AMOUNT OF LICENSE FEES; PROVIDING THE PENALTY FOR VIOLATION THEREOF; REPEALING ORDIN­ANCE NOS. 77, 82, 88, 103, 115, 165, 245, 271, 287 and 319, AND ALL ORDINANCES AND PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT THEREWITH; AND ALL OTHER MATTERS RELATING THERETO." PROPOSED ORDINANCE An ordinance entitled: AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE #297 OF THE CITY OF LAS VEGAS ENTITLED: Pawnbrokers "AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR LICENSING AND REGULATING THE BUSINESS OF PAWNBROKERS AND PAWNSHOPS, AND DEFINING THE SAME; FIXING AND IMPOSING THE LICENSE FEE TO BE PAID THEREFOR; PROVIDING RE- GULATIONS FOR THE CONDUCT OF SUCH BUSINESS; FIXING PENALTIES FOR THE VIOLATION THEREOF; DEFIN­ING ALL DUTIES OF CERTAIN OFFICERS IN CONNECTION THEREWITH, AND TO REPEAL ALL ORDINANCES AND PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH." PROPOSED ORDINANCE An ordinance entitled: AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND SECTION 11 OF THE ELECTRICAL CODE OF THE CITY Electrical OF US VEGAS AS ADOPTED BY ORDINANCE #306 OF THE CITY OF LAS VEGAS, AND ENTITLED: "AN OR­DINANCE TO SAFEGUARD LIFE AND PROPERTY BY REGULATING AND PROVIDING FOR THE INSPECTION OF ELECTRIC WIRING, DEVICES, APPLIANCES AND EQUIPMENT; CREATING THE OFFICE OF CITY ELECTRICIAN AND PRESCRIBING HIS AUTHORITY AND DUTIES REQUIRING THAT NO ELECTRIC WIRING DEVICES, APPLI­ANCES OR EQUIPMENT SHALL BE INSTALLED WITHOUT FIRST SECURING A PERMIT THEREOF; CREATING A BOARD OF ELECTRICAL EXAMINERS; PROVIDING FOR THE LICENSING OF PERSON, FIRMS AND CORPORATIONS ENGAGING IN THE BUSINESS OF ELECTRICAL CONTRACTING OR EMPLOYING ELECTRICIANS TO OBTAIN EL­ECTRICAL WORK; MAKING IT UNLAWFUL TO ENGAGE IN THE BUSINESS OF ELECTRICAL CONTRACTING OR TO UNDERTAKE THE EXECUTION OF ELECTRICAL WORK WITHOUT A LICENSE, EXCEPT AS OTHERWISE PROVIDED; MAKING IT UNLAWFUL TO SELL AT RETAIL CERTAIN ELECTRICAL PRODUCTS UNLESS SUCH PRODUCTS HAVE BEEN APPROVED BY THE CITY ELECTRICIAN, AND NATIONAL BOARD OF UNDERWRITERS, PROVIDING PEN­ALTIES FOR THE VIOLATION THEREOF AND REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES AND PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT THEREWITH," was read by title and referred to Commissioners Moore and Whipple for report. Motion seconded by Commissioner Peccole and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Moore, Peccole and His Honor Mayor Pro Tem Whipple voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Mayor Cragin. APPOINTMENT OF ASST. Commissioner Peccole moved the appointment of an Assistant Chief of Police be tabled. CHIEF OF POLICE Motion seconded by Commissioner Moore and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Moore, Peccole and His Honor Mayor Pro Tem Whipple voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Mayor Cragin. SEWAGE TREATMENT PUNT Commissioner Moore moved that Partial Payment #4 to Hoagland-Findlay Engineering Co. on Payment #4 the construction of the Sewage Treatment Plant, Unit No. 1-in the amount of $50,959.52 be approved and the Comptroller authorized to draw a warrant for this amount. Motion seconded by Commissioner Bunker and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Moore, Peccole and His Honor Mayor Pro Tem Whipple voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Mayor Cragin. CARL WOODBERRY ARREST Commissioner Moore moved that the matter of the arrest of Carl Woodberry by the Police Department be referred to the Civil Service Board for investigation and report to the Board of Commissioners. Motion seconded by Commissioner Peccole and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Moore, Peccole and His Honor Mayor Pro Tem Whipple voting aye; noes, none.
