ORDINANCE Gasolene PROPOSED ORDINANCE Prison Labor SOLICITORS ORDINANCE At this time the following applications for the retail sale of Cigarettes and Tobacco Products licenses were presented to the Board for their considerations BELL VARIETY & HARDWARE 1500 Fremont J. Bell LIL HORSESHOE CAFE 118½ North 1st Herb Rosenberg MAIN AUTO PARTS 319 North Main Herb Rosenberg WIMPY'S PICK-A-RIB JOYNT 1501 South 5th Sutton Vending Service Commissioner Bunker moved the foregoing applications for license be approved. Motion seconded by Commissioner Whipple and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none# Absent: Commissioners Moore and Peccole. An ordinance entitled: AN ORDINANCE REGULATING THE DISPENSING OF GASOLINE; PROVIDING PENALTIES FOR VIOLATION; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES AND PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH AND AIL OTHER MATTERS RELATING THERETO, was read by title to the Board, and referred to Commissioners Bunker and Whipple for report. An ordinance entitled: AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF IAS VEGAS REQUIRING COMMITTED PRI­SONERS TO WORK UPON THE STREETS, PUBLIC WORKS, BUILDING AND GROUNDS OF THE CITY; PRO­VIDING CREDIT GIVEN FOR WORK; PUNISHMENT FOR REFUSAL TO WORK, AND OTHER MATTERS RELA­TING THERETO, was read by title to the Board and referred to Commissioners Bunker and Whipple for report. At this time Mr. A. N. Palmer of the Curtis Publishing Company appeared before the Board objecting to the solicitors ordinance license fee# His Honor told Mr. Palmer if he would write a letter to the Board stating his objections to this ordinance, the Board would give the matter their consideration# There being.no further business to come before this meeting, the meeting adjourned. Las Vegas, Nevada November 22, 1949 A regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners held this 22nd day of November, 1949 was called to order at the hour of 3:45 P.M. by His Honor Mayor E. W. Cragin with the following members present: Commissioners Bunker, Moore, Peccole, Whipple; City Manager George O. Treem, City Attorney Howard W, Cannon and City Clerk Shirley Ballinger. Commissioner Whipple moved the Minutes of November 7 and 9, 1949 be approved by re­ference and the Mayor and City Clerk authorized to sign same# Motion seconded by Commissioner Moore and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Moore, Peccole, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Commissioner Whipple moved that Payroll Warrants Nos. 1089 to 1092 inclusive in the net sum of $27,348.88 be approved and the Mayor and City Clerk authorized to sign same. Motion seconded by Commissioner Moore and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Moore, Peccole, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none# Commissioner Moore moved that Service & Material Warrants Nos. 1873 to 1878 in the total amount of $72,728,87 be approved and the Mayor and City Clerk authorized to sign same. Motion seconded by Commissioner Peccole and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Moore, Peccole, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none# Commissioner Moore moved that the application of Wilbert Roesselet, Bottle House, 827 South 5th Street for a Sealed Package Minature liquor license, having been investigated and reported on favorably by the Police Department, be allowed. Motion seconded by Commissioner Bunker and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Moore, Peccole, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Commissioner Moore moved that the request of C. P. Breedlove to install vending machines for prophylactics and sanitary napkins be referred to the Health Department. Motion seconded by Commissioner Bunker and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Moore, Peccole, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none# Commissioner Peccole moved that the City cooperate with the Las Vegas Land & Water Com­pany in making a survey of water usage, and that a complete report of their findings be submitted to the Board# Motion seconded by Commissioner Bunker and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Moore, Peccole, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Commissioner Moore moved that the letters received from M. C, Oglesby, County Assessor relative to special assessment districts be referred to the City Manager.
