547 RESOLUTION 164 Commissioner Peccole moved the following resolution be adopted: WHEREAS, David and Delia Steams have tendered to the City of Las Vegas a deed Describing certain property to be conveyed to the said City, to be used for a public park, and WHEREAS, the City of Las Vegas is desirous of obtaining the said property for the use of its inhabitants, HOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: this 7th day of February, 1950, by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Las Vegas, County of Clark, State of Nevada, that the deed, dated the 10th day of January, 1950, executed by David and Delia Steams, to the City of Las Vegas, County of Clark, State of Nevada, and that the real property described therein, be, and the same is hereby accepted, for the purposes and intentions therein set forth, and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a copy of this Resolution be attached to said deed, and the same be recorded in the office of the County Recorder of the County of Clark, State of Nevada, and filed in the records of this Board, and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that said City of Las Vegas, by this Resolution, express its gratitude end appreciation to David and Delia Steams for donation the said property for such a worthy cause. Motion seconded by Commissioner Bunker and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Moore, Peccole, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. ——-oOo—— RESOLUTION 165 Commissioner Moore moved the following resolution be adopted, spread on the Minutes and a copy sent to the widow of Captain Sam Irick; RESOLUTION WHEREAS, Captain Sam Irick did faithfully and untiringly serve the City of Las Vegas for many years, and WHEREAS, his ultimate demise has deprived this City of a sincere friend and devoted public servant, and WHEREAS, his passing will be keenly felt by us in Municipal Government who were benefited by daily association with him, as well as the host of friends he left behind, and WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners of the City of Las Vegas deeply regret the passing of Captain Sam Irick, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the board of Commissioners of the City of Las Vegas, at a meeting thereof, held on the 21st day of February, 1950, by this Resolution, extend its deepest sympathy to his family. Since making this his homo in 1941, he established an enviable record for loyalty and integrity in his affairs of business and in the Las Vegas Police Department. By his human qualities of kindness, tolerance and understanding, he found everlasting endearment in the hearts of those who knew him, and earned an exalted place in life. His family may well take consolation in the knowledge that their husband and father was loved by all, and that no other can fill the place he found in the hearts of his friends. Motion seconded by Commissioner Peccole and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Moore, Peccole, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. RESOLUTION 166 On notion of Commissioner Moore, duly seconded by Commissioner Whipple and carried unanimously, the following resolution is adopted, and order made: BE IT RESOLVED, this 13th day of March, 1950, by the board of Commissioners of the City of Las Vegas, County of Clark, State of Nevada, that the deed dated the 6th day of February, 1950, executed by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Charleston Ward, Phil Empey, Bishop, to the City of Las Vegas, County of Clark, State of Nevada, and that the real property described therein be, and is hereby accepted, for the purposes and intentions as therein set forth; and, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a copy of this Resolution be attached to said deed, and that the sane be recorded in the office of the County Recorder of the County of Clark, State of Nevada, end filed in the records of this Board. ——oOo—— RESOLUTION 167 Commissioner Whipple moved the following Resolution thanking the Property Owners Association for inviting the Board of Commissioners to attend their recent meeting and giving them the opportunity to answer questions on City affairs, be adopted:
