    310 Motion seconded by Commissioner Whipple and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Baskin, Clark, Moore, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. CHANGE OF STREET Commissioner Clark moved that upon the recommendation of the Planning Commission as per their NAME - pittnan Place letter dated October 5, 1948 relative to the petition of property owners to change the name to South 8th Place of Pittman Place to South 8th Place with all house numbers in the 1200 block, be approved. Motion seconded by Commissioner Baskin and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Baskin, Clark, Moore, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. BID NO. 48.16 This being the time set for the opening of Bid No. 48.16 for an arbor press, bids were opened from the following firms: Clark County Wholesale Co. General Auto Parts Thereafter Commissioner Baskin moved that the foregoing bids be referred to the City Manager for checking and recommendation. Motion seconded by Commissioner Clark and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Baskin, Clark, Moore, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. LETTERS OF RESIGN- Letters received from A. Lacy Worswick and Thomas A Campbell tendering their resignation from ATION FROM PLANNING Las Vegas-Clark County Joint Planning Commission were ordered filed. COMMISSION RESOLUTION ACCEPT- On motion of Commissioner Clark, duly seconded by Commissioner Whipple, and carried unanimously, INC QUITCLAIM PEED the following Resolution is adopted, and order made: Maryland Parkway RESOLUTION NO. 120 BE IT RESOLVED, the 7th day of October, 1948, by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Las Vegas, County of Clark, State of Nevada, that the quitclaim deed, dated the 4th day of October, l948, executed by the Roman catholic Bishop of Reno to the City of Las Vegas, County of Clark, State of Nevada, and that the real property described therein be, and is hereby accepted, for the purposes and intentions as therein set forth; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a copy of this Resolution be attached to said deed, and that the same be recorded in the office of the County Recorder of the County of Clark, State of Nevada, and filed in the records of this Board. BID ON $350,000 Commissioner Whipple moved that the bid of Soden—Zahner Company on the $350,000.00 Dewage Disposal SEWAGE DISPOSAL Plant Bonds which was received October 6, 1948, too late for consideration, be rejected and their certified check in the amount of $17,500.00 returned. Motion seconded by Commissioner Baskin and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Baskin, Clark, Moore, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. PROPOSED ORDINANCE An ordinance entitled: AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND SECTIONS 1, 2, 3, 5, 7, 8, 9, AS AMENDED, 12 and 14, No. 365 AS AMENDED, OF ORDINANCE NO. 325 OF THE CITY OF LAS VEGAS ENTITLED: "AN ORDINANCE TO PROHIBIT Not adopted GAMING AND OPERATION OF SLOT MACHINES IN THE CITY OF LAS VEGAS WITHOUT FIRST OBTAINING A LICENSE THEREFOR: REGULATING THE SAME; FIXING THE AMOUNT OF LICENSE FEES; PROVIDING THE PENALTY FOR VIOLATIONS THEREOF: REPEALING ORDINANCES NO. 77, 82, 88, 103, 115, 165, 245, 271, 287, AND 319, AND ALL ORDINANCES AND PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT THEREWITH; AND OTHER MATTERS PROPERLY RELATING THERETO, was reported on favorably by Commissioner Whipple. Commissioner Moore, second member of the committee, stated that he had no report. The above entitled ordinance was then read to the Board for the first time. Thereafter Commissioner Clark moved that Ordinance No. 365 be denied. Motion seconded by Commissioner Baskin and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Baskin, Clark and Moore voting aye. Commissioner Whipple and His Honor voting nay. ORDINANCE NO. 363 An ordinance entitled; AN ORDINANCE LICENSING, FOR THE PURPOSE OF REGULATION AND REVENUE, REAL Real Estate brokers ESTATE BROKERS AND REAL ESTATE SALESMEN, AS THEREIN DEFINED, IN THE CITY OF LAS VEGAS; FIXING 2nd Reading THE FEES THEREFOR AND OTHER CHARGES IN CONNECTION THEREWITH; PROVIDING A PENALTY FOR THE VIOLATION OF ANY OF THE PROVISIONS THEREOF; REPEALING SUBSECTION 2 OF SECTION 8 OF ORDINANCE NO. 244, AND ALL ORDINANCES AND PARTS OF ORDINANCE IN CONFLICT THEREWITH; AND OTHER MATTERS PROPERLY RELATING THERETO, was read in full to the Board for a second time. Thereafter Commissioner Moore moved that Ordinance No. 363 be adopted on its second reading. Motion seconded by Commissioner Clark and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Baskin, Clark, Moore, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. ORDINANCE NO. 366 An ordinance entitled: AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF LAS VEGAS AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 308, PROVIDING Fire Prevention FOR THE ESTABLISHMENT OF A BUREAU OF FIRE PREVENTION, PROVIDING OFFICERS THEREFOR AND DEFINING THEIR POWERS AND DUTIES, AND PRESCRIBING REGULATIONS FOR FIRE PREVENTION AND LIFE SAFETY IN CONNECTION WITH HAZARDOUS MATERIALS AND PROCESSES; PROVIDING PENALTIES FOR ITS VIOLATION AND REPEAL OF ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT THEREWITH, was read in full to the Board for a second time. Thereafter Commissioner Moore moved that Ordinance No. 366 be adopted on its second reading. Motion seconded by Commissioner Clark and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Baskin, Clark Moore, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. ORDINANCE NO. 367 An ordinance entitled: AN ORDINANCE LICENSING, FOR THE PURPOSE OF REGULATION AND REVENUE, PEDDLERS, Peddlers AS HEREIN DEFINED, IN THE CITY OF LAS VEGAS; FIXING THE FEES THEREFOR AND OTHER CHARGES IN CONNECTION 1st Reading THEREWITH; PROVIDING A PENALTY FOR THE VIOLATION OF ANY OF THE PROVISIONS THEREOF, REPEALING ORDINANCE NO. 160 AND ORDINANCE NO. 213, AND ALL ORDINANCES AND PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN conflict THEREWITH; ADD Other MATTERS PROPERLY RELATING THERETO, was reported on favorably by Commissioners Moore and read to the Board for the first time.
