    127 zoning regulations, it was duly moved, seconded and carried that the Planning Commission recommend and request the Board of City Commis­sioners to demand the cooperation of the local power company to deny electrical service to any building or structure until a valid certi­ficate of occupancy, issued by the City of Las Vegas, is produced by the applicant for power verifying that he may legally occupy such structure to which power service is sought. Your consideration and favorable action with regard to this recommendation is anticipated inasmuch as the intent and protection of the public interest is obvious. Commissioner Whipple moved that the foregoing recommendations be approved. Motion seconded by Com. Baskin and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Baskin, Moore, Respectfully yours, Whipple and His Honor Mayor Pro-Tm Clark voting aye; Noes, LAS VEGAS - CLARK COUNTY none. Absent: Mayor Cragin JOINT PLANNING COMMISSION /s/ C. G. Petrie Planning Engineer CITY LICENSES Commissioner Whipple moved that the City Clerk be instructed to notify the various inspectors in the City not to issue any permit to any Company until their city license is paid. Motion seconded by Commis­sioner Baskin and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Baskin, Moore, Whipple, and His Honor Mayor Pro-tem Clark noting aye. Noes, none. Absent: Mayor Cragin. CEMETERY DEPARTMENT Commissioner Baskin moved that the purchase procedure be waived and PURCHASE OF LAWN MOWER that the city purchase one Torrel Super Grass Cutting machine from Inland Service in the sum of $907.14 for the reason that it is the only machine available. Motion seconded by Commissioner Whipple and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Baskin, Moore, Whipple and His Honor Mayor Pro-Tem Clark voting aye. Noes, none. Absent: Mayor Cragin. LEASE VETERANS' Commissioner Whipple moved that the lease between the City of Las Vegas COORDINATING COUNCIL and the Veterans' Coordinating Council for space in the War Memorial Building be approved and the Mayor and City Clerk be authorized to sign same. Motion seconded by Commissioner Baskin and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Baskin, Moore, Whipple and His Honor Mayor Pro-Tem Clark voting aye. Noes, none. Absent: Mayor Cragin. CENTRAL SWIMMING Commissioner Moore moved that the recommendation of Pat Diskin, Director POOL - rates of Municipal Pools, that the admission prices at the central swimming pool be 35¢ for adults and 15¢ for students be approved. Motion seconded by Commissioner Baskin and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Baskin, Moore, Whipple and His Honor Mayor Pro-tem Clark voting aye. Noes, none. Absent: Mayor Cragin. GEORGE SHANNON SALARY Commissioner Moore moved that George Shannon be paid the difference in his salary between the amount he receives from the Nevada Industrial Commission and his salary from the City up to and including August 31, 1947 and the Mayor and City Clerk be authorized to sign his check. Motion seconded by Commissioner Baskin and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Baskin, Moore, Whipple and His honor Mayor Pro- tem Clark voting aye. Noes, none. Absent: Mayor Cragin. ADJOURNMENT There being no further business to come before the meeting at this time, Commissioner Moore moved that this meeting adjourn until September 22nd, 1947 at the hour of 2:00 p.m. Motion seconded by Commissioner Whipple and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Baskin, Moore, Whipple and His Honor Mayor Pro-tem Clark voting aye.
