WESTSIDE ANNEXATION Commissioner Baskin moved that the city attorney be instructed to draw Malone & Mankiewicz up the necessary Ordinance for the annexation of property owned by Clem Property and Frances Malone and Joseph S. Mankiewicz to the City of Las Vegas. Motion seconded by Commissioner Whipple and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Baskin, Clark, Moore, Whipple and His Honor voting aye. Noes, none. SALE OF PROPERTY Commissioner Baskin moved that the sale of city owned land, that 60 x Dr. Krauss 50 foot portion of Lots 25, 26, Block 1, Woodland Addition to Dr. Kraus be approved and the city attorney directed to prepare the deed. Motion seconded by Commissioner Whipple and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Baskin, Clark, Moore, Whipple and His Honor voting aye. Noes, none. BIDS - legal opinion Commissioner Baskin moved that bids heretofore received July 22nd, 1947 bond issues-rejected on legal service to the city of Las Vegas concerning bond issues be rejected. Motion seconded by Commissioner Clark and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Baskin, Clark, Moore, Whipple and His Honor voting aye. Noes, none. EDWARD L. BURTON CO. Commissioner Baskin moved that the bid of Edward L. Burton Company Bid Accepted of $7.00 for each $1,000 of bonds issued, be accepted and that the Mayor and City Clerk be authorized to sign said agreement. Motion seconded by Commissioner Whipple and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Baskin, Clark, Moore, Whipple and His Honor voting aye. Noes, none. PAYROLL DEDUCTION Commissioner Whipple moved that the City reject the payroll deduction Blue Cross Insurance plan for insurance deduction as offered by the Blue Cross Insurance Company. Motion seconded by Commissioner Baskin and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Baskin, Clark, Moore, Whipple and His Honor voting aye. Noes, none. PROPOSED ORDINANCE Commissioner Whipple moved that the proposed Ordinance submitted Union Pacific by the Union Pacific Railroad Company concerning loitering in public Loitering parks and public stations be referred to the City Attorney. Motion seconded by Commissioner Baskin and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Baskin, Clark, Moore, Whipple and Els Honor voting aye. Noes, none. INJURED CITY EMPLOYEE Commissioner Clark moved that George Shannon, city employee, who George Shannon was injured recently, be paid for another thirty days. Motion seconded by Commissioner Whipple and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Baskin, Clark, Moore, Whipple and His Honor voting aye. Noes, none. BID #47.33 - Oil This being the time heretofore set for the opening of bids for an oil Distributor distributor, said bid being as follows: July 31, 1947 To be opened 2:00 P.M. August 7, 1947 Item #1 Trailer type oil distributor approximately 600 gallon capacity com­plete with all necessary attachments for road patching work, shoulder repairs, sealcoating, and secondary construction. Single axle, dual wheels, not less than 15 horse power motor connected to at least 100 gallon per minute pump. Must handle at least 12' length spray bar with output of 50 to 100 gallon per minute. Burner must be sufficient capacity to provide hot material quickly and steadily at all times. Must be so equipped that all residue left in spray bar and pipe lines can be pulled back into tank emptying all pockets where material might collect and harden. Distributor should be equal in all respects to Model SJ-E-9413 manufactured by Standard Steel Works, North Kansas City, Mo. Bidders must submit complete specifications and descriptive literature and quote price FOB Las Vegas, Nevada less federal excise tax. Delivery date must be shown. The following bids were received: C. E. Roeder Equipment Co, Reno, Nevada $2,016.00 Smith, Booth, Usher Co. Los Angeles, Cal. 1,900.00 Commissioner Whipple moved that in accordance with the City Manager's recommendation that Bid #47.33 in the amount of $2016.00 be awarded to the C. D. Roeder Equipment Company. Motion seconded by Commissioner Baskin and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Baskin, Clark, Moore, Whipple and His Honor voting aye. Noes, none.
