90 ACCEPTANCE OF SERVICE We, the undersigned, Mayor and Commissioners of the City of Las Vegas, Nevada do hereby admit due service of the foregoing Notice of Special Meeting. s/ E. W. Cragin_______ s/ Bob Baskin_______________ s/ Robert T. Moore____ s/ Reed Whipple_____________ Meeting called to order at the hour of 3:10 p.m. with the following members present; Commissioners Baskin, Moore, Whipple, Mayor Cragin, City Clerk Helen Scott Reed. Absent: City Attorney C. Norman Cornwall, Commissioner Clark and City Manager T. E. Fennessy. RESOLUTION The following Resolution was presented to the Board for their consideration: RE: Las Vegas Housing R E S O L U T I 0 N Authority WHEREAS: The City Council of the City of Las Vegas, Nevada have appointed a disposition committee of five representative persons to recommend the ultimate disposition of the government housing project situated in the corporate limits of the City of Las Vegas, Nevada and known as Nevada 26021; and WHEREAS: The disposition committee has reported and has recommended that the Housing Authority of the City of Las Vegas, Nevada make application to the Federal Public Housing Authority for the acquisition of this project for the exclusive use for rent of persons of low income; and WHEREAS: The Housing Authority of the City of Las Vegas, Nevada have passed a Resolution making application to the Federal Public Housing Authority for the acquisition of the Kelso Turner Housing Project, situated in the City of Las Vegas, Nevada and known as Nevada 26021 for the ex­clusive use for rental for persons of low income; and WHEREAS: The Housing Authority of the City of Las Vegas, Nevada did in such Resolution and Application agree to: (1) to operate the project as a low rent housing project (2) not to sell or otherwise dispose of the project during its economic life. (3) turn all net revenues over to the government for a fixed period of years, which fixed period of years shall be determined on the basis of the estimated life of the project for decent, safe and sanitary low-rent purposes; (4) that all of the property and assets of the Housing Authority of the City of Las Vegas, Nevada will be exempt from the State and local taxation except for in lieu of payments established by policy; and WHEREAS: It is necessary that the City Council of the city of Las Vegas, Nevada confirm and approve the Resolution adopted by the Housing Authority of the City of Las Vegas, Nevada; NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That the City Council of the City of Las Vegas, Nevada does here and now confirm and approve of the Resolution adopted by the Housing Authority of the City of Las Vegas, Nevada for the acquisition of Nevada 26021 for the uses as aforesaid; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That the City clerk of the City of Las Vegas, Nevada shall forward to the Federal Public Housing Authority at San Francisco, California three (3) certified copies of the extracts of Minutes showing this Resolution and one copy to the Housing Authority of the City of Las Vegas Nevada. Thereafter Commissioner Moore moved the adoption of the foregoing Resolution. Motion seconded by Commissioner Whipple and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Baskin, Moore, Whipple and His Honor voting aye. Noes, None. Absent; Commissioner Clark.
