Commissioner Ronnow requested that the Clerk notify all heads of departments that their budget figures for the year 1940 should be in the hands of the Clerk by the 16th of the present month. On motion of Commissioner Ronnow seconded by Commissioner Krause it was moved and carried that the meeting recess until Tuesday the 16th day of January, 1940 at the hour of seven thirty P.M. Vote Commissioners Ronnow, Krause and His Honor the Mayor voting aye. Noes, none. There upon the meeting recessed until Tuesday the 16th day of January 1940 at 7:30 P.M. OFFICE OF THE CITY CLERK CITY OF LAS VEGAS CLARK COUNTY NEVADA, JANUARY 16th 1940 Minutes of a recessed regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners of the City of Las Vegas Clark county Nevada held on the 16th day of January, 1940. Present Commissioners Gilbert, Krause and Corradetti, His Honor the Mayor, City Attorney and Clerk. Absent Commissioner Ronnow. Minutes of meeting of December 28th read and approved as read. Upon finding that the minutes of the Regular meeting of January 4th, 1940 had not been written the Mayor ordered that the minutes be kept up to date at all times regardless of the press or urgency of any other City business. On motion of Commissioner Gilbert seconded by Commissioner Krause it was moved and car­ried that warrants Nos 288 to 294 inclusive be allowed and that the Mayor and Clerk sign the same. Vote Commissioners Gilbert, Krause and Corradetti and His Honor the Mayor voting aye. Noes, none. In the signing of these warrants in the absence of the Finance Commissioner Mr. Ronnow the Mayor appointed Commissioner Corradetti to act as the Finance Commission on this date. This appointment was made after City Attorney Austin advised the Mayor that this could be done legally and in order. On motion of Commissioner Gilbert seconded by Commissioner Krause it was moved and car­ried that the City pay the fees now due for appropriation of waters from underground sources on permits Nos 9902,9601, and 9939, Vote Commissioners Gilbert, Krause and Corradetti and His Honor the Mayor voting aye. Noes, none. On motion of Commissioner Gilbert seconded by Commissioner Krause it was moved and carried that a tavern license to granted to Bert Weller for 109 No 1st. This being a new application and said application being approved by the Chief of Police. Vote Commissioners Gilbert, Krause and Corradetti and His Honor the Mayor voting aye. Noes, none. On motion of Commissioner Gilbert seconded by Commissioner Krause it was moved and carried that Safeway Stores Inc and Nevada Beverage Company be granted importers licenses for the year 1940. Vote Commissioners Gilbert, Krause and Corradetti and His Honor the Mayor voting aye. Noes, none. On motion of Commissioner Krause seconded by Commissioner Corradetti it was moved and carried that C.V.T.Gilbert be granted a sealed package liquor license. Vote Commissioners Gilbert, Krause and Corradetti and His Honor the Mayor voting aye. Noes, none. On motion of Commissioner Gilbert seconded by Commissioner Krause it was moved and carried that a wholesale liquor license be granted to the Nevada Beverage Co and a wholesale beverage license be granted to the Las Vegas Distributing co. for the year 1940. Vote Commissioners Gilbert, Krause and Corradetti and His Honor the Mayor voting aye. Noes, none. On motion of Commissioner Gilbert seconded by Commissioner Krause it was moved and carried that all retail beverage licenses applied for at this time be granted. Vote Commissioners Gilbert, Krause and Corradetti and His Honor the Mayor voting aye. Noes, none. On motion of Commissioner Gilbert seconded by Commissioner Krause it was moved and carried that all slot machine licenses applied for at this time be granted. These applications being for the first quarter year 1940. Vote Commissioners Gilbert, Krause and Corradetti and His Honor the Mayor voting aye. Noes, none.
