Duff BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that no candidate for office at such election shall be entitled to have his name placed upon the official ballot unless such candidate shall, not more than 50 days nor less than 30 days before the date of election, file in the office of the City Clerk of said City of Las Vegas, Nevada, a petition of nomination, in writing, containing the name of the person nominated, the office for which he is nominated, and setting forth his qualifications as required by Section 6 of Chapter II of the city charter of said City of Las Vegas, Nevada. Such petition shall be sub­scribed and sworn to by the candidate nominated; and there shall be charged each candidate, for filing such petition of nomination, a fee of $5,00, which shall be paid to the City Clerk at the time of filing and go to the General fund of said City; BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk of said City of Las Vegas be, and he hereby is, authorized and directed to notify the County Clerk of Clark County, Nevada, to open registration for the registration of voters of said City of Las Vegas for said General City Election at the time, and in the manner provided by the laws of the State of Nevada, governing the registration of voters, such registration to open on the 18th day of March, 1929 and close on the 17th day of April, 1929; BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk of said City of Las Vegas be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to have official ballots prepared and to do and perform all such other or further acts, and give such notices as may be necessary or required by the charter of said city or by the general election laws of the State of Nevada, in order that said election may be called and Held, and that the qualified voters of said city may have due notice thereof; BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that all provisions of the general election laws of the State of Nevada, so far as the same may be applicable and not inconsistent with the said City Charter of the said City of Las Vegas, shall be observed in conducting said election; BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor, or Mayor Pro tem, of said City of Las Vegas be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to issue a proclamation giving notice of the holding of said election, such proclamation to contain the substance of this resolution, and such other matters as may be necessary, to fully and fairly apprize the qualified voters of said City of Las Vegas of the date, time, places of holding and purposes of said election, the names of inspectors and clerks, the method and manner of classifying the commissioners on ballots and such other matters as may be deemed proper in the premises; AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that such proclamation be published in the Las Vegas Age, a tri­weekly newspaper, printed and published in the City of Las Vegas, County of Clark, State of Nevada, for one publication not less than six weeks prior to the date of such election, and that printed copies of such proclamation be posted forthwith by the City Clerk of said City in not less than three conspicuous places in each election precinct. The vote on foregoing motion and resolution was as follows: Commissioners German and Neagle and Mayor Pro tem Mundy, Aye; Noes, None.
