At a regular recessed meeting of the Board of City Commissioners of the City of Las Vegas, Clark County, Nevada, held on the 9th day of February, 1929, at the hour of seven-thirty P. M. PRESENT: His Honor, the Mayor, J. F. Hesse, Commissioners W. B. Mundy, W. C. German, together with the Engineer for the City, City Attorney and Clerk. ABSENT: Commissioners Roy Neagle and O. J. Smith. Meeting called to order by the Mayor. Upon motion of Commissioner Mundy, seconded by Commissioner German, an ordinance entitled:- An Ordinance to amend Section seven (7) and eight (8) of ordinance No. 119 of the City of Las Vegas, entitled "An Ordinance authorizing C. 0. Lauritzen and George P. Peabody, and their assigns, to install, lay down and maintain gas mains, distributing pipes and supply pipes, and all necessary and proper appliances used in connection therewith or appurtenant thereto, in, through, over, across, under and along all or any of the streets, alleys or public grounds of the City of Las Vegas in carrying on the business of furnishing gas to the inhabitants of said city for heating, lighting, power and other uses and purposes, and establishing regulations and conditions in connection therewith." was introduced and read for the first time; thereafter being laid over for a second reading. No further business appearing at this time, the meeting was recessed, upon motion duly made, seconded and carried, until Saturday, February 9th, 1929, at the hour of 7:30 P. M. OFFICE OF TEE CITY CLERK OF THE CITY OF LAS VEGAS, CLARK COUNTY, NEVADA. FEBRUARY 7th, 1929. At a recessed regular meeting of the Board of City Commissioners of the City of Las Vegas, Clark County, Nevada, held on the 7th day of February, 1929, at the hour of three o'clock, P. M. PRESENT: His Honor, the Mayor, J.F. Hesse, Commissioners O. J. Smith, W. B. Mundy and W. C. German, together with the City Attorney, Engineer for the City and Clerk. ABSENT: Commissioner Roy Neagle. Meeting called to order by the Mayor. All claims allowed as shown by Claims and Warrants Register on file in the office of the Clerk; reports read and approved; likewise minutes of previous meeting read and approved at this time. At this time the first reading of ordinance entitled: "An Ordinance Authorizing The Board of Commissioners of the City of Las Vegas, Clark County, Nevada, to Borrow Forty Three Thousand Seven Hundred Seventy Eight Dollars and Eighty-eight Cents to Cover Certain Unpaid Assessments Heretofore Levied And Confirmed By The Board Of Commissioners Of The City Of Las Vegas For The Purpose Of Paying For The Work Of Making Improvements In The City Of Las Vegas, By Constructing Oil Bound Gravel Pavements And Hydraulic Cement Concrete Curbs On Certain Streets And Portions Of Streets In Said City, To-Wit, - On First Street, Second Street, Third Street, Fourth Street, Fifth Street, Ogden Street, Carson Street, Bridger Street and Fremont Street, To Issue And Sell The Bonds Of The City Of Las Vegas Therefor, Said Bonds To Be Known As "Las Vegas Special 1929 Pavement And Curb Street Improvement Bonds", And Providing For The Collection Of Said Unpaid Assessments By Dividing The Same Into Ten (10) Annual Installments And Placing Said Installments On The Tax Roll Of Clark County And Collecting Same In The Same Manner As State And County Taxes Are Collected By Law," was had, and upon motion, duly made, seconded and carried, said ordinance was laid over for second reading.
