LOCAL ALLOCATIONS RECIPIENTS MEETING 9/28/88 PRESENT: ABSENT: ARNE ROSENCRANTZ NORM KAUFMAN BEVERLY EISEN BARRY EISEN BILL FELDMAN DAVID COWLES RABBI SANFORD AKSELRAD JERRY GORDON HEINZ BOLDES JACK SUPER SAUL LEVINE SYLVIA LEVINE ISABEL GOLDBERG MARV PERER HAROLD HYMAN The meeting was called to order by President Arne Rosencrantz at 8:00 A.M., at which time he welcomed everyone present and each person introduce themselves and identify the organization they represented. Jack Super told about his recent trip to Israel this past July. Others present spoke of the propaganda in the news media in re?gard to the situation in Israel. David Cowels talked of his month as a volunteer in Israel this summer. Tourism of American Jew is down about 70%, while Christian tourism is down only 5%. The process of requesting allocations from the Jewish Federation of Las Vegas was discussed by Norm Kaufman. Organizations will be asked to make a presentation in about one month: Goal setting in October and actual amounts requested in March. Primacy period for the Jewish Federation of Las Vegas is January, February, and March of each year. January 8, 1989 will be Super Sunday. Tonights COJO meeting will discuss Super Sunday and Israel Inde?pendence Day. The meeting will be chaired by Dr. Neville Pokroy. Local Allocations meeting will probably be during the first two weeks of November, 1988.
