I agree.SHOSHANIM GROUP - HADASSAH GENERAL MEETING - MARCH 11, 1996 The meeting was called to order by President Sherry DeArmas at 7:30 p.m. in the home of Kathy Menasche. Raffle tickets were sold at $1.00 each with half of the pot going to the winner and half to Shoshanim. The winner gets donor credit. The collection of stamps for the newsletter, toiletries for Shadetree and labels for St. Judes was completed. Everyone in the room introduced themselves. The minutes were read for the February meeting by Harriet Smylie and approved as corrected. The Treasurer's report was given by Marcia Marx. The account balance is $629.29; however, outstanding is $150.00 uncleared and $32.00 for stamps leaving an "available" balance of $447.29. The Ima contributions were called for. Education Vice President Ramona Luckman read a letter giving a Hadassah member's impressions of the recent bombings and loss of life in Israel. The Youth Aliyah Luncheon report was given. The total net profit was $3,350.00, short of last year's total due to two less Imas. Next year we hope to improve. Harriet Smylie, member of the nominating committee, read the chosen slate and reminded us of the elections to be held at next month's meeting. Sherry introduced our guest speaker Jeanette O'Donnal who is a psychic and runs performance motivation workshops. Her program, "Journey into Self," includes the five steps towards awakening your psychic powers. Psychic readings followed. A reminder: On Sunday March 17th Dena Ben Yehuda, a senior physician in the Department of Hematology at the Hadassah University Hospital in Jerusalem, will be a guest speaker in the home of Jo Ann Geller. It will be a wine-and-cheese reception from 3:00 to 5:00 PM. Husbands and guests are welcome but RSVP's are necessary. The raffle was drawn and Harret Smylie won. The proceeds were donated to the Ima Fund in honor of her sister Donna's engagement. Thanks were given to Kathy Menasche for hosting the meeting this evening. And again a special thank you was said to Jeanette O'Donnal for tonight's program. Our next meeting will take place on Monday, April 1 st at Marie Callendars. Elections will be held that evening. The meeting was adjourned at 9:15 p.m. Respectfully Submitted, Harriet Smylie
