Co-sponsored programs with UNLV?s Greenspun College of Urban Affairs, Hank Greenspun School of Journalism and Media Studies, Lee Business School, Spectrum GLBT Campus Club, ROTC on Campus, Black Student Organization, and CUFI on Campus. ? UNLV Hillel and Israel Scouts-Tzofim volun?teer at Senior Lifeline. ? First-ever IDF Week, co-sponsored with ROTC, culminating with 6O UNLV students at FIDF Gala. ? Rosh Hashanah, Yom Kippur and Sukkot celebrated at UNLV with services, meals and programs. ? Volunteered at community-wide Mitzvah Day and Super Sunday Phone-A-Thon. WOMEN?S PHILANTHROPY ? Women?s Philanthropy Campaign raises more than $642,000. ? Annual Lion of Judah luncheon features Anne Heyman from Agahozo Shalom Youth Village in Rwanda and welcomes 6 new Lions of Judah. ? Women?s Philanthropy Pomegranate dinner with Mayim Bialik welcomes 14 new $1,800+ donors. ? Women?s Philanthropy United luncheon held at The Venetian with 250 women to hear author Iris Krasnow for 2013 Jewish Federation Cam?paign. Silent auction and raffle raises $30,000. ? Women?s Philanthropy hosts Vodka Latka at Hyde at Bellagio celebrating Chanukah. ? Shalom Baby delivered over 100 new baby welcome bags thanks to generous grant from Brendan Mann Foundation. ? Six Women?s Philanthropy leaders attend International Lion of Judah Conference in NYC. ? Women?s Philanthropy sponsored ?Perspectives on Women?s Civil Rights Issues? with ADL. SENIOR LIFELINE ? Collaborative partnership with Three Square Food Bank and Helping Hands of Vegas Valley distributed commodities to needy seniors from Alice & Harry L. Goldberg Senior Center. ? Provided compassionate care and case management services to over 550 low-income senior adults. ? Received $407,000 in grants from Caesars Foundation, City of Las Vegas, Clark County, Englestad Foundation, Regional Transportation Commission, State of Nevada Division of Aging, United Way of Southern Nevada and Wells Fargo Bank. COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT ? Allocation Committee reviewed and ap?proved grants to 40 beneficiary agencies total?ing $1.4 million; including $300,000 for JFSA; $200,000 for JCC; and $300,000 for Jewish Day School Scholarship funds. ? Established Jewish Information and Vol?unteer Service (JIVS) to provide ?one stop? information for Las Vegas Jewish community and volunteer efforts. ? Provided scholarship funds for Team Las Vegas at JCC Maccabi Games fielding largest team of 30 teen athletes. ? Jewish Federation provides financial man?agement for JCC. ? Recommended scholarship awards for dozens of Jewish youth for Jewish camp and Israel pro?grams experiences. ? Provided funding for first-ever Hillel Direc?tor at UNR in collaboration with Reno Jewish community. ? Funded several Jewish burials through Allan Brewster Indigent Burial Fund in cooperation with JFSA, Clark County Social Services, King David and Kraft-Sussman. ? Established Jewish Communal Professionals Group to promote collegial relationships for staff serving Jewish community agencies. ? Provided more than $80,000 in funding for Israel Program Center, Israel Schlichim and Is?rael Scouts-Tzofim and outreach programming to Israeli community in Las Vegas. ? Provided $25,000 matching grant support for expansion of BBYO membership and programming. ? Provided $25,000 in scholarship funds for annual March of the Living teen program to Poland and Israel. COMMUNITY RELATIONS ? Federation leaders accompany Governor Sandoval on his first visit to Israel. ? Governor Sandoval hosts first-ever Yom HaShoah Observance in State Capitol attended by members of the State Senate, Assembly, Supreme Court, community leaders and more than 50 Holocaust survivors. ? Co-sponsored 4th Annual Night to Honor Israel with Christians United For Israel raising $60,000 for special projects in Israel. ? Welcomed International Conference of Jewish Child Survivors of the Holocaust and coordinated community-wide observance of 75th anniversary of Kristallnacht. ? Presented genuine Holocaust-era rail car exhibit, in cooperation with East Valley JCC, at Green Valley Ranch with over 1,500 visitors to mark 75th anniversary of Kristallnacht. ? Hosted more than 100 major donors at?tending Birthright Israel Foundation confer?ence. ? Welcomed JFNA Community Executives Institute for annual conference. ? Presented Dr. Anat Berko, Israeli counter terrorism expert, for community lecture and special briefing for local law enforcement officials. ? Sponsored annual Community Security Briefing in cooperation with ADL, Las Vegas Metropolitan Police and other law enforcement agencies for Council of Jewish Organizations. ? Leadership meets with members of Nevada Jewish Legislative Caucus and other elected of?ficials during Legislative Mission to Carson City. ? Co-sponsored community programs for Yom HaShoah, Yom Hazikaron and Yom Ha'atzmaut. ? Leadership meets with all members of Nevada?s Congressional delegation to discuss support for Israel, foreign affairs and domestic issues. ? Established special appeals and made grants for Hurricane Sandy, Colorado Fire, and Philip?pines Typhoon relief. ? Hosted Dr. Lee Yaari of the Rabin Medical Center, together with Desert Orthopedics, for special Fellowship. ? Israel Program Center and Community Schlichim help community members find study and volunteer programs in Israel as well as to make Aliyah. HILLEL ? Hosted Jewish student leaders from Univer?sity of Maryland for winter break Community Service project. ? Hosted briefing on Pew study with Dr. Ste?ven Windmueller of HUC. ? Special grants totalling more than $100,000 for Mashabim and Midreshet Ben Gurion schools in Ramat HaNegev. ? Raised more than $400,000 for Birthright Israel. FINANCIAL RESOURCES ? Jewish Federation Campaign raises over $2.5 million including 700 new and 400 increased gifts thanks to the Adelson Challenge. ? Super Sunday Phone-A-Thon raises over $125,000 thanks to help of 150 volunteers at the Adelson Educational Campus. ? Major Gift?s reception attended by 100 gen?erous donors captivated to hear Avraham Infeld speak. ? Cardozo Society collaborated with Boyd School of Law at UNLV for Continuing Legal Education program, ?The Ethics of The Laws of the Holocaust.? ? Real Estate and Construction Division tours behind the scenes at Ruvo Center for Brain Health Cleveland Clinic with founder Larry Ruvo. ? 50 donors attended first-ever Men?s Night Out at Casa Cigar & Lounge. ? Maimonides Society hosted evening recep?tion with Israeli Professor Dr. Ran Aaronsohn. ? Jewish Community Foundation reorganized and establishes Legacy Society to honor en?dowment donors in community. ? Foundation and Federation assets in?vested with Jewish Federation Endowments in Baltimore, Boston and Chicago for increased oversight and better performance. ? Professional Advisors Committee sponsors education seminars on Estate and Financial Planning and Long Term Care. MANAGEMENT ? Jewish Federation completes successful au?dits with Ellsworth, Gilman and Stout and State of Nevada-Division of Aging, City of Las Vegas, and Workers Compensation. ? New Investment Committee policy provides 3% of endowment assets each year to Jewish Federation with first grant of $100,000 for al?locations grants. YOUNG LEADERSHIP ? Sponsored three Nevada State Busses with over 120 young Jewish adults on Birthright Israel; having raised more than $1.2 million over last four years in support of Birthright. ? Jewish Emerging Leaders holds Mitzvah Day, in partnership with Congregation Ner Ta?mid, with over 400 attendees doing community service. ? Jewish Emerging Leaders engaged over 450 young Jewish adults through programming and engagement initiatives. ? Jewish Emerging Leaders Birthright Israel Re-Engagement Initiative engaged hundreds of Birthright alumni in monthly programming and focus groups. ? Jewish Emerging Leaders commenced the Leadership Engagement and Development Series (LEADS) with 15 participants. ? JewEL hosts monthly happy hour and pro?fessional networking events with hundreds in attendance. PJ LIBRARY ? PJ Library enrollments continue to grow with over 1,500 Jewish families enrolled in the monthly Jewish literacy program. ? PJ Library and Shalom Baby collaborate on monthly programming for Jewish holidays.
