Speaking of New Year, Jubilee! showtimes for New Year?╟╓s Eve will be 8:00 p.m.and 12:15 a.m.. We will ring in die New Year with Dick Clark in Tunes Square during the first show, and we will ring in the Las Vegas New Year prior to the second show. Remember, traffic and parking will be a problem that night, so leave for work early. 1991 will mark a new year for Jubilee!. Starting in February, die Entertainment Department will initiate a new marketing program for die show, which includes discount group rates and weekend show packages. They will also be offering five-dollar discount coupons to all guests of the hotel. A new advertising campaign will also begin in February. One of die slogans is ?╟úSamson Brings Down The House Every Night?╟Ñ. The Publicity Department will begin filming commercials the first week of January. I will give you the exact dates after Christmas. Don?╟╓t forget, Jubileel auditions are December 8 & 9 - 11:00 a.m. girl dancers, 12:00 p.m. boy dancers, 1:00 p.m. singers, and 2:00 principal dancers. The last day of this contract is January 24. Yoga exercises are based upon the premise that health occurs when our mental and physical bodies work in harmony. All exercises are designed to balance, stretch, tone and strengthen the body and mind. Slow, thoughtful stretches are used to enter, hold and exit poses to develop a strong and flexible body. A yoga stretch is available for every muscle and joint of flie body. Often, sports and exercise repetitively use only certain muscle groups. When improperly stretched, muscles become hard and tight, causing discomfort and increasing the chance of injury. Properly executed, yoga provides an excellent way to promote lifelong wellness. Dortha celebrated her 15th anniversary as head of the Ziegfeld Theater wardrobe department at Bally?╟╓s on Decemeber6, 1990. Dortha, who originates from Glendale, Calif., took up sewing as a hobby after her two daughters were bom ?╟úI taught myself how to sew,?╟Ñ she said. ?╟úI made clothes for my daughters from the time they were 6 months old.?╟Ñ In 1930, Dortha?╟╓s first husband died, and she went to work in a California garment factory to support her family. She said she strived to be the fastest seamstress in the factory. ?╟úI knew the more work I turned out, the more money I would be paid,?╟Ñ she said. Dortha went on to become one of the best seamstresses in the factory. Dortha opened her own garment factory in 1950, which specialized in contract sewing. During a weekend trip in Decemeber 1960, she applied for a job as a seamstress in the show, Philippine Festival at the Dunes Hotel, and she was hired on the spot. ?╟úI had never been involved in show business,?╟Ñ said Dortha. ?╟úI wanted to work around all those beautiful costumes..?╟Ñ Dortha worked on Philippine Festival for three days, then she was transferred to the Dunes?╟╓ other show, Fredrick Apcar?╟╓s Viva Les Girls, where she remained until the show closed nine years later. In 1975, she was hired by the MGM Grand Hotel as the head of the wardrobe department for the production show Hallelujah Hollywood in the Ziegfeld Theater, When Hallelujah Hollywood closed in 1980, Dortha stayed at the hotel and opened Jubilee!. When she is not fixing costumes for Jubilee!, Dortha can be found mending clothes for the stars working in the Bally?╟╓s Celebrity Room. Dortha laughed and said, ?╟úHere I am old, decrepit, and mending Tom Jones?╟╓ pants!?╟Ñ Way to go, Dortha!
