RULES FOR BEAUTY ENTRIESs 1. All entries, including vehicle pulling entries, are to be 100$ decorated or will be ruled out of competition?╟? We are striving to make a beautiful parade and with everybody?╟╓s help, we can have a parade comparable to the Tournament of Roses parade. 2. Floats are to be limited in si*e to the following dimensions? a. Maximum length ?╟÷ lj.0 feet ?╟÷ exceptions allowed with permission b. Maximum width - 20 feet of Parade Committee following per- c. Maximum height - If? feet sonal inspection. 3. The solid bottom frame of a float is to be not less than 16" from the ground. I4. Large advertising signs on the side of a float are to be eliminated. Since each entry is announced over a loud speaker at every comer, the Parade Committee feels a neat snail sign that can be read from the sidewalk should be sufficient and will not detract from the beauty of the parade. 5. Each float is to be equipped with a l/2w bar that projects from the frame of the float chassis to the front of the float apron, this bar having a if?╟Ñ eye for hooking a tow in case of a breakdown. 6. Each float is to be equipped with An escape hatch to provide easy entrance for the driver! a tested fire extinguisher! and a.suitable space provided to give the driver a clear forward vision at all times while driving the float. 7. The tail pipe for the exhaust line is to extend to the side or rear, projecting beyond the float apron. 8. To help avoid trouble, the Float Construction Committee will inspect all floats before, during and upon completion of construction. We ask each participant to advise the Parade Committee of the location of their chassis before any construction is started. The'Committee will then make a preconstruction inspection for approval of chassis, motor, tires, cooling system, battery, etc. Subsequent inspections will be made during construction. 9. The Parade Committee requests that no items, such as souvenirs, gifts, beverages, etc., be thrown or dispensed from any of the entries along the parade route. Because of the large crowds viewing the parade and the scramble that would naturally result to retrieve any articles thrown, there would be grave danger of serious injury to spectators, particularly to children. 10. It is very essential in order to have a nice parade, that each entry keep its space, which is approximately 70 feet from the entry ahead. Will you please instruct your driver regarding the importance of this. Also, each driver should be instructed not to stop the line of march for photographers. 11. You will be contacted by the Chairman of the Beauty Queen Contest regarding the rules for that event. ?╟≤ Each contestant must sign these above rules before entry will be accepted. In the past, some of these rules have been violated or ignored. Let us state firmly and without exception that if there is a violation of the above rules, the entry will not be allowed to enter the line of march.
