The case of a West Las Vegas woman who sho\ and critically wounded a man who tried to break into her house Saturday night will go to Clark county?╟╓s dis- trict attorney for analyzing some- time Monday, police Lt. Bernard J. Handlon said Sunday. The woman, Louise Washington, 28, of 411 West Wilson St., was booked for investigation of as- sault with a deadly weapon after she reportedly shot Thomas Clark,' 24, twice with a .22 caliber pistol after he smashed in the front door to her home. Handlon said the Washington woman told them that Clark slashed the screen and kicked in the door after she had warned him to stay out of her house. She said he was going to beat her so she fired at him. ?╟úI didn?╟╓t want to kill him, so I just aimed at his arms and legs,?╟Ñ the woman told police. Clark was shot in the arm and neck, police said. His condition was listed as critical by Southern Nevada Memorial Hospital atten- dants. Lt. Handlon said when he pre- sents the case to the district attor- ney, he will not ask for a con- viction on assault with deadly weapons charges, but just present the case as it is in an effort to get it cleared up.
