"Bill" Schroeder, Chuck Benedict CO-CHAtRMEN: Irv Terry, Rudy La Russo / EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR: David Marmel May 17, 1971 Mr. A1 Freeman The Sands Hotel Las Vegas, Nevada Dear A1: This shall confirm receipt of your letter dated April 27, 1971 outlining the provisions of agreement related to the 5th Annual Victor Awards Banquet, June 26, 1971 at the Sands Hotel. All items contained therein are consistent with our agreement and accepted. As you know, I attended a meeting in New York with CBS on Wednesday, May 5th and Triangle Productions of Philadelphia on Thursday, May 6th, both of whom expressed a great deal of interest in our show. Since that time, CBS has expressed regret that a suitable time slot could not be made available in the months of July and August and thus is unable to carry the program. Triangle indicates a high degree of interest; however, has not to date announced its decision. I want to reemphasize that we shall make every effort to maintain a continuity of television coverage for this affair. In the event we are unsuccessful in doing so, I assure you it was not due to a lack of a significant attempt. We, of course, are most grateful to A1 Benedict, Carl Cohen and yourself for the $35,000 which will be credited to the Sportsmen's Club Master Account regardless of whether television is a reality or not. In closing, I might add that a tremendous excitement exists among our membership regarding our forthcoming trip to your hotel and naturally Irv Terry and I look forward to working with you and your able Sands personnel towards a mutually successful promotion. Best regards. Sincerely, DZMsmc cc: Irv Terry NATIONALLY TELEVISED David Z. Marmel Ul- { Q PRODUCED BY THE SPORTSMEN'S CLUB FOR THE CITY OF HOPE
