v DUTIES: OPERATION: ******************** **** TRANSPORTATION COMMITTEE ******** ********** ****** 1. Accept and record the delivery and return of the vehicles loaned the World Congress for the VIP MOTOR POOL. 2. Obtain, instruct, assign and supervise drivers for the VIP MOTOR POOL. 3. Supervise the parking, storage and servicing of VIP MOTOR POOL vehicles. 4. Supervise the operation of the VIP MOTOR POOL. 5. Coordinate the use of chartered buses * as instructed by the Managing Director. 6. Supervise the use of private automobiles used during thfe World Congress. The World Congress of Flight VIP MOTOR POOL will include twenty-five 1959 Oldsmobile Sedans and two 1959 Oldsmobile station wagons. These vehicles are painted white and have the World Congress of Flight emblem on each side and special World Congress license plates. These cars have been shipped to James Cashman Company for servicing before being turned over to the World Congress. Some of these cars will be drawn from Cashman's prior to the opening of the VIP MOTOR POOL. The remaining cars are to be drawn by the TRANSPORTATION COMMITTEE on Friday, April 10, and parked near the north end of the Convention Center in a designated area, ready for use Saturday, April 11. In addition to the Oldsmobiles, at least two stretch-out vehicles, carrying eleven passengers each/ will be included in the VIP MOTOR POOL for use in transporting crew members, or other passengers, who are on board civilian and military aircraft carrying VIPs. Twenty-five additional automobiles have been shipped to Las Vegas for use by executives of General Motors Corporation. These additional cars, some of which are convertibles, are painted exactly like the VIP MOTOR POOL cars. Care should be taken not to mix the two groups of cars. Arrangements have been made for servicing the cars with gas, oil and grease at the Thunderbird Service Station, near the Thunderbird Hotelg The cars are to be washed at Phillips Service Station, 1736 South 5th St. The Oldsmobile Division of General Motors Corporation is sponsoring the cost of servicing the automobiles.
