Abstract
The University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) Events Audiovisual Collection (1973-1992) consists of audiovisual materials that document various conferences, speeches, lectures, and events that took place at the university. These events include the "Economic Stabilization and Inflation" speech given by Wallace C. Peterson, commencement speeches, a debate between Phyllis Schlafly and Sarah Weddington, and a panel discussion. The collection contains cassette and VHS tapes of commencement ceremonies; television programs and interviews related to university activities; university promotional announcements; and a university video series titled

The University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) Events Audiovisual Collection (1973-1992) consists of audiovisual materials that document events held on campus, including conferences. The collection also contains speeches given by individuals such as statistician Dr. Albert H. Bowker, philosopher Mortimer Adler, former president of Cornell University Frank H.T. Rhodes, and economist Wallace C. Peterson. The collection contains audiovisual materials of events, which include a debate between politician Phyllis Schlafly and attorney Sarah Weddington, the retirement of Dean of Hospitality Jerome Vallen, a memorial service for music publisher Arnold Shaw, and a dinner in honor of former casino owner Margaret Elardi. The collection includes videotapes of television coverage and reports of Runnin' Rebels games, radio interviews with university president Robert Maxson and artist Claes Oldenburg, and university promotional footage that discusses topics such as senior citizens attending the university and the degrees offered at the university. The collection also contains materials covering news conferences regarding Jerry Tarkanian's (coach of the UNLV men’s basketball team) resignation, donations and gifts awarded to the university, and the Nuclear Waste Regional Transportation Center. There are also brochures for events and a transcript for a speech given by Israeli statesman Simcha Dinitz within the collection.

Biographical / Historical Note
The University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) has hosted many events and conferences since its founding. These events include speeches and lectures given by individuals such as Dr. Albert H. Bowker, Frank H.T. Rhodes, Wallace C. Peterson, and Dr. Murray N. Rothbard. The Inflation and the Performing Arts conference, Environmental Studies Strategy conference, and various news conferences have also taken place on campus. The news conferences include events such as the resignation of Jerry Tarkanian, high-profile donations and gifts awarded to the university, and a conference with the Nuclear Waste Regional Transportation Center. In addition to these events, the university has also hosted its own events including graduations, lectures, debates, and special dinners in honor of faculty and community members.
